Sad but true...

WAYNE COUNTY FRIEND OF THE COURT UPDATE

Custody Hearing in Detroit

Detroit, MI. -- A seven-year old boy was at the center of a Detroit courtroom drama yesterday when he challenged a court ruling over who should have custody of him.

The boy has a history of being beaten by his parents and the judge initially awarded custody to his aunt, in keeping with child custody law and regulations requiring that family unity be maintained to the degree possible.

The boy surprised the court when he proclaimed that his aunt beat him more than his parents and he adamantly refused to live with her. When the judge suggested that he live with his grandparents, the boy cried out that they also beat him.

After considering the remainder of the immediate family and learning that domestic violence was apparently a way of life among them, the judge took the unprecedented step of allowing the boy to propose who should have custody of him.

After two recesses to check legal references and confer with child welfare officials, the judge granted temporary custody to the Detroit Lions, whom the boy firmly believes are not capable of beating anyone.

Lol Dee is this really true?

If so, that is absolutely horrible. How can people treat children like that? I believe in a light spanking to a child who has done someting wrong that can be dangerous to himself or others, but beating? I feel bad just telling my 1 year old nephew "no" a few times and then having to yell at him. (he's a wild one) I can't imagine anything ever hurting the children that I know. People are disgusting.

no it isnt true...it is a joke...you can replace the Detroit Lions with any pro or college sports team. I have seen that exact thing used for several other teams as well

A "choose your own RC post":

Luckily, the child is now a ward of the Detroit Lions, where he'll never be exposed to such sick people. Thank God.
