"Interesting" article.

Westwood Elementary is right by my house....I swam at the pool by there every day as a kid.

I bet the old VP of my high school is going to be sporting green and pink all this week! hehe . This is good for Pittsburgh...I'm surprised there aren't more GLO conventions there.

What I found really interesting was that TWO different GLOs are having their conventions in the same city, at the same time! What's the odds of that happening?

To those who are in town, enjoy!

It's happened before. In 2000, we had our Regional Convention in NO and the Kappas had their convention at the same time as well.

Not every city in the US could handle such a feat.

Theta Phi Alpha and KDR have both had their conventions here. Then agan KDR's HQ is in Greensburg (about 40 miles from Pgh).

Those are both GORGEOUS hotels - I'm sure everyone will enjoy.

I do know that the NPC and AEPhi have had their conventions here, too - I got to be the ADPi rep for the one convention!

In 2002, Iota Phi Theta was just finishing the last days of their convention in Miami when SGRho came down. Miami was HOT

The KD convention in 2001 was at a Disney Resort, at the same time SAE's convention was in an Orlando hotel, we had a big party the one night.

Pittsburgh's economy can certainly use the conventions. I would think it would be an very economical place to hold a convention or conference.

Zeta Phi Beta and Phi Beta Sigma Great Lakes Region have hosted conferences together.

This year Sigma and AKA will have their conference in Indianapolis during the same time.

Our regional Leadership Conference (about 1/4 of the fraternity) was held in Pittsburgh for two of the past three sessions.
