The man was a media legend. It's a shame but he lived a full life at least.

Irony: 40 years ago this month, man landed on the moon and Walter Cronkite covered it.

" and That's the way it is..."

Walter Cronkite was the keynote speaker at my brother's graduation from the University of Michigan in 1984. I left that stadium in awe of the man and often thought he would have made a good president.

Well...he wasn't the ONLY one.

Still, his greatness and popularity at the time have linked him to the occasion in the minds of millions. Being the space geek I am, the Apollo 11 landing was certainly the first thing I thought of upon hearing the news.

Did anyone catch the hour tribute for Mr. Cronkite last night? What an amazing man and the mold has been broken and now lost. All of those who followed him said about the same thing.
