Owl sightings in Nanny World
Ok so this summer I am a nanny, which means I get to watch an obscene amount of PBS Kids and Playhouse Disney with the 2 year old. So random owl fun from Nanny-Land:
The little boy has a book called Peek-a-Who? which is about a little owl
The Wiggles sing a song about owls, and also have a dance. This song is also on the Wiggles karaoke microphone and is the only song that the little boy will sing to
Today on Barney, the kids made owls out of paper lunch bags. Extremely cute! Maybe a good philanthropy night idea for recruitment, hmmmm but what could they be used for?
The little boy's favorite animal is the owl and he takes every opportunity to tell me what an owl says. He has also associated me with owls and likes to tug on my pant leg and go "Sa-Sa, hoot hoot"
What can I say, this kid is destined to marry a Chi Omega!

I love the "Sa sa, hoot hoot" part!
Sort of on topic:
I saw Sweet Home Alabama last night for the first time. She walks into her apartment at one point and there are tons and tons of flowers all over - roses - but they are all red or yellow. Then later in the movie when she's at home there is a coffe cup holder in the background that looks like a tree and the coffe cups were shaped like owls! I kept thinking 'I bet a Chi O dressed this set!'

"Owl Babies"
Here's a great book for ages "baby - preschool" (or for a Chi Omega Sister!)
From Publishers Weekly
...Martin Waddell's Owl Babies, in which three worried owlets wait for their mother to return from her night flight. Patrick Benson's disarming cross-hatched pictures of fluffy, wide-eyed owl babies, and the use of light colored text against a black background, turn this sweet story into a hauntingly lovely little book. (Candlewick, $6.99 22p ages 18 mos. 2 yrs. ISBN 1-56402-965-4, Oct.)

My mom got this book for me and it came in a box with a little stuffed owl. I love it! It just sits on my shelf right now but one day I will let my daughter (or son) read it and play with the owl. Got to get Chi O into their minds at an early age so that they know which way to go once the time comes (just kidding...sort-of).
