Philanthropy

Hey! I'm not our philanthropy chair but I was wondering what the other chapters do to support Ag In The Classroom. Do y'all have any cute ideas or resources that I can give to our philanthropy chair? I really enjoy working with Ag In The Classroom and I'm always looking for new ideas. Thanks y'all!!!!

Allison

Allison-

ANYTHING GOES!!

Many chapters go into the classroom to teach about ag. Other chapters supply teachers with lesson plans and resources to teach the children (i.e. pots, soil, and seeds for a lesson on how plants grow).

One of the best ideas I heard was from the Tau chapter during thier brainstorming session last weekend. They want to decorate a bulletin boards in a classroom throughout the year with different aspects of agriculture.

Best of luck to you.

Hi Allison!

The Gamma Chapter uses Small Animals Day as our philanthropy project for spring semester. This year our fundraiser is also counting toward SAD. The college just recieved HUGE budget cuts, so our Spring Duck Race is raising money to put on the day as well as the sisters will be tour guides and spend the day on college farms answering questions for parents and small children. We are very excited to help plan this 30 year old event as well as talk to people about farm animals and agriculture

PM if you need more ideas!

~Allie
