RMS Titanic, Inc

FEATURING 100 ARTIFACTS, SOME NEVER SEEN BEFORE

For over nine decades, these treasures lay hidden 2.5 miles beneath the North Atlantic Ocean. Painstakingly recovered from the debris field surrounding the wreck and artfully-conserved, these three-dimensional objects, more than words and images, represent the vessel and the 2,228 souls who journeyed with her into history.

I took my kids to that exhibit when it was here in Detroit. It's a terrific experience, very moving, very educational and really well done.

If you take out the lake is a lot shorter, but you are looking at about an 8 hour drive.

Doesn't the ferry start running again soon though?

Edit: Apparently not until May, so nevermind.

I had the pleasure of seeing this exhibit today in Victoria, BC. http://www.royalbcmuseum.bc.ca/titanic/default.aspx
If you have the opportunity to see this exhibit, do. It was very moving and interesting. It's in Victoria from April 14 - October 14, 2007 and then I'm not sure where it globes-trots to, next.

eta: http://www.rmstitanic.net/ It looks like there are several of these Titanic exhbits, including Colorado, Florida and Las Vegas.

I did touch the ice, but it would appear that no "add on" voice tour was made available to us, which is a shame. I agree with "bring the tissues", too.
