What's Going on In Tenn??

MEMPHIS, Tenn. - An unabashed racist will represent the Republican party in the November election for a congressional seat after a write-in candidate failed to derail his effort...

Hart, 60, vows if elected to work toward keeping "less favored races" from reproducing or immigrating to the United States. In campaign literature, Hart contends that "poverty genes" threaten to turn the United States into "one big Detroit."

What scares me the most is that there are 7,671 people in that district who would vote for a candidate that openly supports eugenics!!

From one of the news stories about the race:
"Hart has tried to calm angry Republicans nationwide by insisting that his views are not rooted in racism, but in the steadfast belief of "favored races" from Europe and Asia and "less favored races" from Africa."
Ummm. . .and that's not racism, how?

He won because the only challenger he had in the primary was a write-in candidate. Most folks probably don't pay enough attention to figure out how to write in a candidate. He'd have definitely won if he'd have run in Dade County.

But yeah, I'm going to agree with everyone else here. The dude is a fucktard.

Unfortunately yes, but also in some cases no. Loyal republicans may not agree with him but could have voted for him simply because he is a republican. We also have a large population of uneducated voters (by this I mean someone thinks they are doing their civic duty by voting but haven't learned anything about the candidates.)
