Question Revealing

Does anyone have any wonderful ideas for a clever way to reveal secret sisters? Any and all ideas are appreciated.

Thanks!

We listed everyone in the past 3 years who we gave to. Our president's daughter (who was not a member) matched us up. The daughter drew the names and passed out the assignments

The president did not know who got who.

This year we had to have a couple of members switch around assigments due to the death of one sister

Revealing

So sorry to hear of the loss you suffered by losing your sisters. That must have been terribly rough on the entire chapter. I was looking for clever ideas on ways to reveal who your secret sister is. One year, for instance, we gave our secret sister a copy of our baby picture. She had to try to guess who had been giving her gifts all year long by looking at the baby picture. That sort of thing is what I'm looking.

How does your Chapter reveal?

Thanks.

My chapter had a weird year. We had several people quit mid-year that had just pledged. Apparently they didnt realize that Beta Sigma Phi and our chapter is more than just the once a month meeting---we also have a once a month social and a service thingie about every other month, plus the events that city Council sponsors.

Anywho! Because of the above dilemma we didnt really have a cool way for revealing tonight. We just guessed who our secret sister was and then it was revealed. My secret sister guessed me which was kinda cool because I sat right next to her at dinner. My secret sister was one who quit so I got the super cool spare present that was brought

Been There

I certainly sympathize with the changes that your chapter has experienced this year. Our chapter has also gone through many changes this year as well. We had a pledge drop out two meetings after her pledging to our chapter. That was disappointing enough, but then we had three of our members, who were dissatisfied with us leave to begin another chapter. That was a blessing in disuise because beginning a new chapter only spreads the "sisterhood" in addition to separating members due to their unhappiness. That event brought others to us from another chapter who wanted to go to an Exemplar chapter from their Ritual of Jewels chapter. Change is good, but it isn't always easy. I'm glad your revealing turned out well considering the challenges your chapter faced this year. Good luck to you in 2005-2006.

I am also interested to hear how others do revealing. Since my chapter is a recent Friendly Venture, we've never done a Secret Sister "reveal." In my first chapter, we didn't do a formal Secret Sister program. Ours was more like "Secret Santa," and we only did it from October to Christmas.

Reveal Idea

What our chapter ended up doing was each person received a box (the theme...give the gift of sisterhood) and on each side of the box they wrote a hint about themselves...like, I was born in the golden state...I own a piano...my favorite flower is...you get the idea. On the top of the box was the secret sister who had to guess...then they opened the box and it revealed who their secret sister was.

Any other ideas out there???
