It was either deleted or moved to the mods' corner for review.
You know who to thank for that.
To the OP, if you are sincerely interested in hearing people's opinions on pledging, feel free to search for an old thread or start one in an NPHC forum (preferably the one in which you belong) just as someone had previously suggested.

Deleted. I tried to look at it and got the invalid thread as well.

Wow, I didn't think it had taken a turn for the bad. But I may have missed some responses since I posted.
OWT, I suggested he/she post in a NPHC forum.

I only read the last page with OTW's cursing rant, Senruset, and your brilliantly seasoned post. I didn't even read the OP. And OTW was the only one who typed something that made me be like "what the hell is this thread about?"

Sorry about that. I should have known better than to reply back to the moderator that shall not be named. I know he's gonna go crying to mods corner once he sees this. He always bitches about me in there thinking I don't know what the eff he's saying. Little does he know that what he's saying puts him in deeper isht.
And now, regarding the thread at hand...
Basically wrong information was given regarding the meaning of "pledge" and "paper" (in the NPHC sense). I encouraged those in the NPC/NIC to refrain from giving false info but I was too late.
Senusret spelled it out perfectly. And 'Shid...I don't care if the thread was deleted, I'm still waiting for that check.

When you're a moderator, can you delete threads in any forum or only in the forum that you moderate?
I guess what I'm wondering was if Tom got rid of the whole thread himself.

Tom does that indirectly by his off-topic comments directed at people he doesn't like who post in any thread. That's how threads get deleted.

Moderators can only moderate the forums they're assigned to. So, being that the thread was originally in Greek Life, only the GL mods had the ability to get rid of it. Oh, and John -- but I highly doubt it was him.
My guess is that the posts got reported an ookabillion number of times and that's what got the attention of the mods.
Oh, and notice that this thread has since been moved to CC. It was originally in GL.
