Talking I had a Sigma moment today...

So, I'm at the mall downtown today, sitting on a bench eating my Hagen Daz when I hear "I have to stop and say hello to my soRHOr.." I looked up and a woman came over to me with a big ole' grin on her face. "Hello soRHOr" she said. My response "Hello soRHOr" and we hugged. She said " "I crossed Beta Psi in 96...." I said "I crossed Beta Psi fall of 2001". Ok, that's when we both pretty much lost it. She said (in the direction of her family members) "This is my NEO! " Turns out, after she graduated, she moved out of state and was in town for a few days. I was so excited because this was my first "out of chapter" experience. So we chatted for a few minutes, exchanged info, hugged again, and then went on our seperate ways.

I wanted to share my happy moment with my soRHOrs!

Talking

Sorhor Ninjapoodle,

Everytime I wear nalia which is a lot I always run into a sorhor that I've never met before. I also have a story about wearing my nalia in a social gathering. I was with three other sorhors from my chapter and we were just hanging out on a late Saturday afternoon in March (2002) and Sorhor F. Blakeney had just got on all of us because she was the only sorhor wearing visible nalia. We decided to hang out at Uno's - Chicago Bar and Grill for a bite to eat at the Bowie Town Center and after the meal we ran into a Sorhor from another chapter. The sorhor had on her nalia and we all exchanged phone numbers, addresses, etc. When we got outside of the place Sorhor F. Blakeney turned and said, "see that's why you should wear more nalia than just the jewelry and she was very right because we could have just walked right past that sorhor and never had the opportunity to get to know one another.

The moral of the story is. . . Sorhors wear your nalia proudly.

Cool I had a Sigma moment today!

I work in the financial district in San Francisco. I was on my way to lunch and stepped out of my buliding and saw it was raining so I went back up to the 19th floor to get my SGRho umbrella. I get outside and just as I get across the street, I hear this EEE-YYOOP! I snapped my head around (danm near broke it!) and saw my soRHOr standing on the oppisite corner waving at me! So when the light turned green, I ran across to greet her, gave her a *BIG HUG* and we did the intro's and stuff. Can you imagine what this looked like? Two grown women in the middle of the street hugging and laughing? I forgot her name already (i'm really bad with names!)but she crossed at Mississppi Valley State. We only had 1 little piece of paper and I had left my cell phone in the office. So I gave her my number and I'm gonna hook her up with our grad and undergrad chapters! What a nice way to start my weekend!!

BTW, the obvious moral of the story is wear your para and wear it proudly!! You never know who you will run into!

Me too..

I have had Sigma Moments like this when I wear my pari. I've started a little book with the names and addresses of SoRHOrs I meet. I love random meetings. It makes me feel soooo connected to the Sigma Sisterhood.

Hey Sorhors,

I've had numerous Sigma moments because I always have on some nalia on my body, my car and I carry my sorority briefcase that I received from regionals 2001 and that really grabs a lot sorhors attention. The moral of the story for all sorors is to wear your nalia and always have something handy to write down their information. It really is a good way to network and keep in contact.

A Job well done Sorhor Ninjapoodle!

hey what can I say..."I Am bad from head to toe. I am a woman of Sigma Gamma Rho!"

I just got a new car last week and I was too upset bc I could not get my favorite color. So you know me..the Super Neo..I just put a sticker, a plate, and I have a necklace hanging from the rear view mirror. I know it's sad..huh? LOL!

But soRHOrs I really luv this organization. I am an only child and I never had a lot of friends and my family is not really close. I went to private schools so I was "stuck up" to the people in my hood..and "not stuck up enough" (sort of speak) for the people at school. So since I've found Sigma and since it has embraced me so well w that family like feeling..I'm never gonna let up...But that's enough b4 I get all sentimental...

bye SoRHOrs!!!

What's so sad about a sticker, plate, and necklace......shoot, I have a front plate, rear plate frame, mini-paddle on the rearview, and an umbrella and car flag in the back window!! I have some rear bumper damage on my car and whenever I get it fixed, I just may paint CiCi (that's my car's name) "14 Karat Gold" in honor of SP2K2 or RHOyal blue. I already have little blue lights on my tires and I'm about to get the blue ground kit and some little lights to go my wipers.
Now THAT'S sad!!
