Major haircuts

Anyone have a major haircut lately?

My hair's been LONGGGG for about 4 years now, and I just got about 7 inches cut off 2 hours ago. I like it so far, but it's a big change. We'll see how I feel about it tomorrow AM after I shower and try to do my hair.

Senior year of high school my hair was even longer than it was earlier today, really nice highlights, etc. Over Christmas break something possessed me to get it hacked to my chin (note: previous to this my hair had never really been shorter than my shoulders) and dyed a light blond. Loved it at the salon, HATED it the next morning.

Spent the next 2 years trying to grow it out. God I hope I like this cut more than that one.

I cut mine to probably 3" all over about a month and a half ago. I love it, and my hair grows out so fast, it's probably up to about 5" now.

Yesterday I went for a drastic cut! My hair is a really pretty shade of blonde with lots of natural highlights so I didn't mess with the color. But, it used to be a little below my shoulders with a few layers and a boring center part. As of yesterday morning it is to my chin with lots and lots of flipped out layers and a side part swoopy thing across my forehead Very drastic! (Think Reese Witherspoon Sweet Home Alabama and that is my new hair!) I styled it on my own this morning and it is actually one of the easiest cuts I have ever had! Ten minutes for blowdry and straightening, some defrizz serum, wax, and hairspray and I am set to go! It took me 15 mins before to make it look decent! It makes me look a few years older, so instead of looking 16 (I am 18), I now look at least 20! yay! And it is so fun to play around with and try new hair styles out on! I reccomend it!

Your new haircut sounds exactly like the one I'm going to get. And you started with the same length I have now as well. Now that I know it's easy to style, I'm mush more excited about going and getting the cut!

2 months before my wedding, fiance dumped me...I had hair to my belt-loops, which he loved & would not allow me to cut (great '80's permy hair...oh, and it was the '80's, so it was OK). Day after break-up, I cut it all off, even back of neck got shaved...considered mailing the ponytail to him. Decided not to be so fatal attraction. I loved the short hair after having it long forever.

Oh, and we got back together and got married on the original date...he has never said a word again about how I should wear my hair for fear I will do the opposite.

I'm growing that cut out right now; no matter what I always seem to go back to the chin length bob I've had since I don't know when! CardinalSM is right, though, it's ridiculously easy to style and it is a cut that looks adorable on everyone

Dani, I remember your hair as being seriously gorgeous and long. I'm sure it's still seriously gorgeous, just not quite as long!

Almost 7 years ago, I took the plunge and chopped of my long hair to chin length. After the first day, I decided to let it grow long. If I want to cut it shorter in the future, I will only allow it to be slightly below shoulder length!

I got my hair all cut off about a month ago. Used to be long, curly and HOT! Now it's straight (which I have to do, damn natural curls!), shorter and very updated. Think flipped on the ends, part down the side. Even men at work gave me compliments and they notice NOTHING!

I got mine cute two days ago. My hair has been through some dye disasters this past year, so I knew I had to get a decent amount cut off. So I took pictures with me of what I wanted, and I ended up with shorter than what I expected I know it will grow but my hair doesn't come close to touching my shoulders. It looks terrible straightened, so I keep it with my natural curl, and everyone seems to compliment it then.

Think short, the front has a few layers to frame the face, and the back is stacked. I call it my soccer mom hair I think it will look much better as it grown out a few inches *sighs and waits for my hair to grow* And the only hope of pulling it up and out of my eyes in windy weather is pigtails

My hair has been long (ends around the chest) for the past 2 1/2 years. I just graduated from college and *when* I go into the workplace, I'm not sure if I should have the same long straight hair that everyone loves or a shorter haircut that makes me look more mature and professional. Lately, I've just been pulling it back into a slick ponytail. What do you guys think-- keep the long hair or go for something more sophisticated when I start working?

My hair is long, straight and red. Like Donna on That '70's show. It is all one length and I am sick of it. I am scared to do anything to it though.

Freshman year, I had the chin-bob, then junior year I had just past shoulder with layers but now it is long and pretty but blah...

I am not into having to go all out in styling my hair either, so a cut that requires pomades and spray and stuff is probably not for me. If I can find a pic, I will scan it sometime...

Any suggestions would be welcome

Two Novembers ago I changed my haircut style for basically the first time ever. I'd always had long straight hair, to the middle of my back, and bangs, but that was BORING and made me look like I was 12 or something. I grew out the bangs, got my hair cut shorter than shoulder length, and got cute flippy layers, and I've kept some variation of that cut ever since. With cutting it like that, my hair suddenly became wavy/curly and now I can wear it like that when I want, but the downside is that I have to heavy-duty blowdry to get it straight. Hmm, this thread reminds me, I really need to get a haircut before rush...

I say keep the long hair. Long hair looks sophisticated so long as it is healthy and well maintained. And a low ponytail is always classy looking.
