Gamma Phi Delta

Hey everyone!

I was walking around my campus one day and saw a flyer about Gamma Phi Delta sorority. From the flyer, they want to start a chapter at my campus but I have not heard much about this sorority. I know it's not part of the Panhellenic or National Pan-Hellenic so I really don't know where it stands. I checked out the site, but the information was really overwhelming (www.gammaphideltasorority.com) There was an email and sent an email and they told me they will send me a formal invitation about the informationals. Other than that, that's all I know about this sorority.

If anyone knows about this sorority, that would be absolutely awesome! Thanks!!!

It's a national sorority which is not affiliated with either the Panhellic or National pan-hellic. It's emphasis is on business.

If you look at the post, she said Gamma Phi Delta "Sorority" not "Fraternity".

Gamma Phi Delta Sorority

I was also approached about joining this organization. I've asked time and time again if they are even looking to be apart of the Panhellenic or National Pan-Hellenic. I have yet to get an answer. Is there anyone who knows this? I want to know the benefit of joining. All of my friends and most of the women in my family are apart of the divine nine, so I know the benefits of joining with one of them but no sure where GPD is going......Please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You've asked a current member and she wouldn't give you an answer? If that's the case, it may not be information that they want given out.

I guess I don't understand how are why anyone would want to join a group that is not doing anything or have any plans to do anything. What really kills is that not many people have heard of them. I want to make the right decision, and it's not easy when who I'm interested in doesn't want to tell me anything.

Just because they're not doing what you want them to do doesn't mean they aren't doing anything.

If you want to join an NPHC or NPC organization, pursue one of those. I don't see what's hard about that.

I was about to write the exact same thing.

Just because an organization is not part of an umbrella council (more specifically to you NPC or NPHC) doesnt mean they arent doing anything or going anywhere. There are hundreds of greek letter organizations on the local, national, and international level. As long as the organization is living up to its own principles, its doing plenty.

Knocking them isnt doing anything for your cause and only worrying about what they can do for you rather than what you can do for them isnt the best thing either.

I understand that you want to make the best decision (as we all do), it just doesnt seem like you are going about it the right way. Besides, they've been in exsitence for over 60 years, they must be doing something right.

I honestly wish you the best of luck and hope that you took this as constructive criticism.

Gamma Phi Delta Sorority

Matsimela, you make so much since. In the last couple of weeks I’ve had the opportunity to do some more research, as well as sit down with some of the sisters this organization.

I’ve been told for years that if an organization wasn’t apart of the Great Eight or now the Divine Nine, they were…for lack of a better work-generic. Most of the men and women in my family are in one of these organizations. I’m sure that you can guess what they have to say.

You are right in saying that I do need to do what’s best for me. After speaking to the sisters of G Phi D, I have decided to pursue membership with them. Having you shed light on this is a bonus…….Thanks!

Prove31 Gamma Phi Delta Sorority is a Business Sorority. You can still join a NPHC or NPC Sorority if you choose to do so. Just make sure that the other sorority you are interested allows that.
