Rushing as a sophomore?

Hi everybody! I'm currently a freshman and finished my fall semester with a 3.9! I anticipate my spring semester will reflect similar grades, but do I have a fairly decent chance of receiving a bid next fall?

I'm currently in my school's honors program, on my university's union board, organizer of a financial literacy program through a fellowship, and a congressional intern! I intended to rush this year, but I realized my schedule wouldn't allow me to dedicate myself to a chapter until sophomore year.

I love college so far, but I believe joining a chapter would enrich my experience even more! Thank you so much!

Congratulations on your first semester GPA and your achievements. You'll find from reading through many threads here that we cannot truly tell you what your chances are of receiving a bid; with the only exception being this - if you do not go through recruitment, you definitely won't receive a bid!

That said, pnms do receive bids as sophomores, with the notable exception being certain campuses in specific areas of the country (e.g. the SEC). I'm not saying it's impossible there either, but the odds drop significantly. I wish you continued success and good luck!
