Question how much do dues cover?

i'm rushing this week starting tomorrow! super excited

just a quick question. i know answers will vary, but i'm just wondering. how much do our dues cover? like what exactly are we paying for? do we still have to pay for socials and formals if we pay our dues? i dont really understand. can anyone clarify??

also, since im already on the financial topic, typically how much do you have to spend on your lil sis when you get one?? lol. sorry guys, i'm not trying to sound cheap, i just need to know the financials. my parents are asking.

You answered your own question.

Talk to Greek Life if you want to get a range of costs for your campus.

These are all questions you should ask the chapters, as this breakdown varies from chapter to chapter within an organization and from chapter to chapter within a school greek system.

Hopefully you will have the opportunity to go to the orientation meeting at your campus, and get a full breakdown on the costs at your campus. If you can't go, ask your recruitment counselor to give you the financial info provided at the orientation.

It's good to ask the questions up front, even if the answers you get may seem vague. Being in a sorority will be just like many other clubs or organizations or activities you have been involved in or will be in the future- there are some fixed costs you don't have much control over (dues, live-in fees, one time initiation and membership fees etc.) and some costs that you have control over (pictures, t-shirts, eating pizza after the softball tournament etc.)

I always think its a good idea that the member herself contributes something to the cost of her membership. Talk to your parents and your rush counselors so you are as informed as possible before you join!

What's been said.

Also, some chapters charge dues for 8 months, others for 12 months.
