Fraternity/Sorority President's Manual

I am currently putting together a manual for the presidents of the GLOs on my campus. I have found a couple online and they have given me some ideas as to what to include, but I was wondering if anyone has a really helpful manual that their university uses. I am not looking for an exact manual, more just ideas as to what topics I should cover. Thanks!

thinking this person works on campus as a greek advisor or a greek leader. AFA has a chapter advisors manual that members can download for free and i think non-members can buy fairly reasonably. there are some things there you could adapt. other than that....

here's what i would think to put in:
- general info on univ student org policy, registration, etc that affects them
- judicial/discipline process for student orgs
- constitution & bylaws of councils, include greek j-board info if you have one
- important dates they need to know......recruitment (all groups on one calendar), mandatory events, leadership opportunities offered by the campus (and how to register for them), campus preview days & orientation dates where they would be able to promote, campus holidays
- what expectations you have of them (paperwork, meetings, returning phone calls & email, behavior, etc)

that's all i can think of this morning....hope it helps you start.

Thank you for the ideas!

The manual will be distributed to all the presidents of the GLOs on my campus. I am currently an undergrad volunteering for the Greek Life office.

If there are locals on your campus, without access to officers' manuals from the Central Office, you can probably find good material on line, esp. at the Phi Delta Theta web site.

If there are no locals on your campus, you're wasting your time preparing manuals. Maybe you could have a "do you use the manuals?" from your Central Office contest.
