Question Fantasy Football Anyone??

Just curious if anyone plays fantasy football on here. If so, who are your hottest picks for RB's??

I searched APHIA and Omega for the topics but didn't see one.

I do. I just did a thesis presentation for abaici and btb87 on either the AKA or DST page.

hottest pics:
Clinton Portis (on my team)
Ahman Green
Shawn Alexander
Edgerrin James
Rudi Johnson
and #20 for Jacksonville, I can't think of his name right now though...

that should get you started.

I've been looking at the predictions..and your suggestions are right on target. Last year my team was picked for me, but I'm on my own this year. The guys think I'm a novice. Last year was my rookie season, but I'm gonna show'm this year. This will be a fun football season

Meanwhile I'm Impatiently waiting for Sportscenter to stop showing baseball

Uhm, you are talking to the 1995 Homeboy Football league champion. u best recognize

how many teams in your league? what's you scoring formula? I think most good teams have strong Rbs, but depending on the formula a good QB or WR can do much damage too.

Ours is a 12-team league. I had a bad season last year, so I'm drafting 4th (we use a surpentine system).

anyway, the scoring formula is vital to how you draft your squad, IMO. In most leagues RBs are key cause NFL teams usually run more than they pass. More touches, more chance for points. In our league, TDs are 6 pts---RBs get 1 pt. for each 10 yards rushing/or receiving; WRs get the same and QBs get 1 pt. for each 20 yards passing, and 3 pts for TD passes.

so I usually draft RBs early then try to snag a stud QB or WR who ever is the best available. Usually there are only a handfull (2-3) of impact TEs (Gonzalez, Heap, Shockey (if healthy) and I think Winslow might show out a lil bit this year, too. If you can get one do it; if not, wait till the middle rounds.

is yours a keeper league or do you guys start fresh every year?

There are 12 teams...I'll actually be doing two one through yahoo and the other through fanball. (i think). I think I am the newbie to the league..so of course they're expecting me not to do damage..but to really be the 12th team.

How do you think T.O. will do? I have faith in him..but since he's in a new system i don't know. I pick 3rd..and I'm guessing 1st will go to Portis..and second to LT.

So do u suggest RB..WR..QB..D..TE...K as an order? I didn't have to pick my team last year..so they're really trying to put it on a sista LOL

Terrell Owens will have a MONSTER year; it's the west coast offense the same system he played in in S.F. He likes the McNabb and wants to play for him. My suggested order would be RB, RB, QB, WR, WR, RB, TE....then draft your back-ups. Always, always draft a kicker last, and unless it's Baltimore, you can wait till mid to late rounds and get a good defense (of course this depends on your scoring system).

With a 12-team league there's not a lot of depth, but you can still show the boys how it's done.

Tony,

Have u had your draft yet? I had to leave my list for them to pick from..and it turned out ok... a few players I got worth mentioning are Hassleback, (C. Palmer is my backup) A. Green, L. Fitzgerald, K. Winslow, Ike Hilliard, Kevan Barlow, Ryan Longwell and Philly's defense. I am in another league that drafts next week which will be only 10 people..so hopefully my team will be a little better...

Let me know whats up on your end!

my draft is this Friday, thus I'm in full research mode. Only two on my roster currently are Clinton Portis and Matt Hasselbeck. I'd holla more about strategy, there could be league spies on the board, and discretion is always key.
