Several arrests were made after a raucous, two-day frat party at the University of B.C. involving hundreds of people, public intoxication, fighting and property theft.
The party began Friday night at the university’s fraternity village in the 2800-block of Wesbrook Mall following the annual “AMS Welcome Back barbecue,” said Insp. Davis Wendell, regional duty officer for the RCMP’s Lower Mainland police service.
“We were met with just incredible numbers of individuals that were extremely intoxicated, and in some cases, they were minors,” Wendell said.
About 1,000 people attended Friday night’s party, where personal property including laptops and stereos were stolen.

Unfortunately this couldn't come at a worse time in the middle of rush and the second day of sorority recruitment. The "two-day" party is kind of silly, there was a BBQ the first day where things were stolen and the second night was a party where mostly independents got out of control. Most sorority girls were in bed for the next day's tours.
