Miss Kansas is an Alpha Phi
Alpha Phi collegian (Gamma Xi - Wichita State), Hannah Wagoner, was crowned Miss Kansas this weekend after winning both the talent and swimsuit portion of the competition. Hannah will compete in the Miss America pageant in September. Way to go, Hannah!!!

Congratulations to her.
Two things, though: Wichita State recruitment is September 9-14. Will that overlap with the Miss America pageant, or with the required pre-(or post-)pageant activities? If there is a conflict, will the chapter fine her for missing all or part of Work Week or -- heaven forbid -- recruitment itself?

When a member of my chapter won a state pageant she had to take an entire year off of school to fulfill her duties. I am guessing it is the same with this individual.
ETA: And yes, I see the fun you are having with this... just responding for those who don't.

Good grief! I'm absolutely positive there will be no fine for a member who brings honor to our organization by competing in the Miss American pageant.

I'm pretty sure the same will be true here and the chapter will be pleased to accommodate her needs, no matter what. She is a beloved member and the girls were with her all the way!
