I want to learn greek!
Hi, I'm Rachel - I'm 15 and from Essex, England I have been going to Crete since I was around 3 and now I'd like to learn Greek fluently I am starting to write to a girl I know there so I can try Greek and she can improve her English but I was wondering if anybody knew of any good books or sites that I can learn from the sites need to be free as I have no cards to pay with. Also if anybody here would take the time to help teach me I'd be more than greatful!
Thanks; Rachel

Hey, Rachel.
This forum is for members of and people who are interested in North American collegiate fraternities and sororities, commonly called "Greek Letter Societies" because their names are often made up of two or three Greek letters that stand for a (usually) secret motto. "Greek," in this context, is used as an adjective describing people and things related to fraternities and sororities.
Good lucking finding Greek language resources.

Sort of on topic but how many people have taken greek to learn more about their mottoes? I took Latin last year because some of our mottoes are Latin and plan to take Greek in the spring...maybe it's just me but I think you can learn so much about what the writers of our rituals were thinking if you understand the many meanings of words. Anybody else done this?

I didn't learn Greek because of going Greek (though I ~would~ like to...)
But I use my Greek-ness to try to pick up Greek (like from Greece) guys. Does that count? LOL

I'm currently studying Greek, but that's what comes with my major. It's an interesting language, to say the least.
