Colonies for 2010

Has anyone heard of new colonies or old zetas being recolonized in Fall 2010?

Baldwin-Wallace College is the only one I've heard of.

Isn't Santa Barbara and Arizona State already colonized? And which Cal are we talking about?

One of the brothers from my chapter recently became an ELC, and I think he said they were trying to get something going at UNC Wilmington... having a Lambda Chi chapter at the beach will be ridiculously awesome!

I think UNC-Wilmington was on a list of future expansions in the C&C a year or two back.

Guys, I have been getting caught up on recolonization and chapters that have been inactive or kicked out of school. It would be awesome if we could set up a chapter at UNC-W. It's a very ideal location and the school is growing in size. Western Carolina has really done well since they have been recolonized and have already won multiple awards from the university. Although, we lost ECU one or two years ago, which historically had a strong chapter.

Does anyone have any updates on what the status of the University of Kentucky chapter that received an emergency suspension due to underage drinking 2 weeks ago? It seems like they will do a membership review and need to make sure hazing is abolished at that chapter. The UK chapter has been getting better the past few years and had more of a presence on campus, so their suspension was ill timed.

In regards to my chapter at Epsilon Omicron Zeta (UT-Knoxville) our brotherhood is doing really well but we have been without a house the past 9 months. We are supposed to have a renovated house next fall, work beginning in November. I'll wait to see if this happens, because it's been in the works the past 3-4 years. We desparately need the renovations, because our house has been a laughing stock by both alumni and undergraduate students.

we here at West Michigan is thinking about starting an alum association first and trying to bring Delta-Theta Zeta back to Grand Valley State University. We have 1 more year left on our 5 year ban (or whatever you call it). Hopefully we can get some help from nationals. there are lots of alums that live in the area (as Ferris State, Western Michigan, and Michigan State are all within an hour of driving).

Please keep this updated so we know how others are doing.

yours in ZAX,

Lambda Chi is making presentations to possibly colonize at Virginia Commonwealth U and Florida Gulf Coast U. Lets hope the presentations go well, these would both be new chapters.

I want to say the president of VCU is a Lambda Chi, but don't quote me on that.

Cal Berkeley. The chapter is up and running, and in their old house, which had been rented out (but well kept up by the alums).

There are a couple of VERY dedicated brothers still left over from the old chapter at A&T. From what I've heard, they've been forming colonies in an attempt to bring the chapter back, but I'm sure you can imagine how difficult it is to run an IFC fraternity at a HBC that already has strong Greek life within other governing councils.
