Favorite Horror Movies
I couldn't find a thread on this.
Horror is my favorite movie genre and I'm obsessed with it.
Reading the Alien vs Predator thread and Senruset's reference to the original Alien movies, made me think of my fav horror films.
My favs in order are:
The Exorcist (when I think of horror, I generally think of demonic possession and "ghost movies," anyway)
Poltergeist
The Entity
From Beyond
Texas Chainsaw Massacre (original and remakes)
Dawn of the Dead (original and remakes)
Night of the Living Dead (original and remakes)
What are your favs. And don't come in here with some 3rd Tier fake horror like the American version of The Ring or something.

Carrie and The Exorcist are probably my two favorites.
I reallllllly enjoy Candyman because it plays THE RACE CARD. But also because it is an excellent story.
I liked 28 Days Later, too.

Candyman is grrrrrrrrreat and the back story is what makes it hot. It def played THE RACE CARD.
Wasn't it also playing on the Bloody Mary urban legend (or was it true? )?

The Exorcist (of course! I still can't watch the whole thing)
Texas Chainsaw Massacre (the original, I HATE the Jessica Biel remake)
Poltergeist
It (cause it still scares the beejezus outta me)
the older Chucky movies (excluding seed of & bride of)
all the Halloween movies
that's all I can think of at the moment

Here's one thread about this. I get the creeps even thinking about Last House on the Left!

I was thinking "Carrie" and "The Exorcist" before I even saw the other responses. Classics!

The Exorcist
Poltergeist
And for the sheer sickness of the mind it takes to create a movie like it, Hostel. I realize many people wouldn't call that one a horror movie, though.

Carrie and The Rage: Carrie 2 (the remake of Carrie was terrible)
The Fog- the '79 version (the remake was horrible, besides I couldn't get the ending)
I Know What You Did Last Summer
Friday the 13th
Psycho (the original one)
I have never seen Black Christmas (original or remake), but I would like to see it.

I am really picky about horror movies. I don't typically like what everyone else likes (i.e. The typical classics).
My favorite:
1. American Psycho (The movie is not your typical horror flick, but it is absolutely brilliant. Why am I fascinated by a hot guy that goes on a killing spree?)
2. The Grudge
3. Saw
4. I Know What You Did Last Summer

I liked The Hills Have Eyes, but I am not sure I could watch it again. I have only seen the new version

^^ Yeah the unrated remake of The Hills Have Eyes has to be the horror movie that has gotten to me the most.
I guess it's because they have some kind of character development, so you feel bad for the characters as they're getting tortured. Plus some of the scenes are really gory and intense. Awesome movie.
Aside from THHE, I'd have to say some of my other favorites are Texas Chainsaw Massacre (the original and remake), Halloween (original), and the older Friday the 13ths.

Lol I got kicked out of the theatre because I could not stop laughing at the exorcist. It wasn't because I am a disturbing individual, but because the movie made me nervous.
I also saw Teeth, in which I laughed nervously like crazy. That is definitely a movie you do not have sex right after
