Hello from a fellow Smurf
HI Jenn,
Welcome to Greekchat. Warning they can be addicting. Its great to finally hear how things went at CCSU and Congratulations on your Installation. I can still remember the pride I felt to be one of the foundings sisters of Iota Gamma and finally seeing all our hardwork pay off when we were initiated and installed as a chapter.
It's kind of bittersweet for me now though because we can no longer say that Iota Gamma is the newest chapter of Phi Sigma Sigma although i'm so happy to say that we are expanding.
By the way, how did you come up with Smurfette as part of you screenname? My boyfriend's nickname for me is Smurf, I really have no clue as to how he chose that but I can definitely say there are very few people in the world with the same nickname.
Can't wait to see more sisters from Iota Delta on Greekchat.
LITP,
Carolyn

Congratulations!!!
I know it was hard, and there was a lot of work to do, but it's well worth it in the end! Of course, if you need anything, or have any questions, don't be afraid to ask us...
Once again CONGRATULATIONS!!!

Thanks everyone! True, it was tons of hard work, but all sisters and I are thrilled to have reached this point, and we did it in exactly 1 year. We are currently in rush right now and have some wonderful interested ladies. If anyon has any ideas on what we can do as a group wh the interested ladies that doesn't cost too much $ I woud love to hear them. So far we have done things such as a game night, treating the ladies at TGI Friday's after our men's basketball game andwe have a movie night planned.
To answer you question phisigduchesscv, I got my nickmane from a good friend who's in Phi Delta Theta here on campus. Last year our basketball team made it to the championship of their conference so my bf and I painted ourselves, along with 3 other friends, blue from the waist up (i had a bikini top on). Our mascot is the blue devil which is why we were blue. From that night on i have been known as Smurfette.

Jenn,
Here's some ideas that are cheap, or kinda cheap:
*Spaghetti Dinner
*Picnic
*Ice Cream Sunday (have sundae's on a Sunday)
*Video night
*Sleep over
*BBQ (hotdog's really don't cost that much...)
*Museum (ok, sounds boring... but most of the time they're free)
*Chili Dinner
*Rollerblade/Skate
*Bike
*Go hiking
*Volleyball game
*Softball game
*Soccer game
*Flag football game
*Game board night
Yeah, that's about all I can think of... I know somewhere in this forum is a list of all different types of ideas... I'll look for it, and give you the link.
Good Luck!
LITP~Beth

We're trying to recruit our entire dance team
So, we're having a Darin's Dancin' Groove Night
We're renting the video and having them teach us dance steps
We've already got 4 of them interested in joining

I really like this idea just for a general recruitment. even if not trying to recruit a dance team it would be fun just to do.

Dancing is always fun for recruitment ideas!! (this coming from an old dance performer--so I might be a little bias) For the last couple of years we have done dancing in one of our nights of recruitment. We break everyone into groups and make up dances to different songs and then we all perform in front of everyone. (you know if they all want to; or you can hang out with the "judges") Its gone over really well. We have done a TRL night during our "Love in Las Vegas" Recruitment theme (it was New York New York night) and this fall we did it with our "When Phi Sigs rule the world" theme as our Western night (that was my fav. we had hay and everything!!) and this spring we just did it with "Phi Sig Back in Time" as our Disco Diva Night. I think we won't be doing it again anytime soon though, because we have done it soooo much but hey if it works, i say go for it!
* oh yea i love how this kinda turn into a rush thread*
anyway everyone have a great weekend. a big mmmmmah to all of you!!
