Wink The Fashion Law

Okay, so we've been discussing anti sex laws and anti genital piercing laws, but what I want to know is this -- what fashion law would you propose? Have you ever seen someone and said "There ought to be a law!" Have you ever wanted to have something banished from wardrobes everywhere?

If you could make a law against one clothing item, what would it be?

Here's mine -- pleated pants that taper to the ankle. They don't look good on anyone -- if you have a pooch, the pleats make it look even bigger. If you have a big ol' flat butt, the pants draw attention to it. Pleated, tapered pants should be against the law!

We should agree on a certain cut off size for women (men too if you like) and then just make a one piece slip on shapeless general garment for everyone over that size . . . incentive to stay fit.

Will you be the first one modeling said shapeless garment?

Or as an alternative, certain types of clothing could be sold only up to a certain size. If your size is bigger than the limit, then you won't be able to find certain things.

The first thing to go on the list should be spandex bike shorts. Just because it will stretch over your butt does not mean it looks good!

Next, shirts that expose the midriff. What are people thinking! There is no way that any sane person can look in a mirror and think, "Darn if this big roll of fat hanging over the front of my jeans isn't just sexy as heck...I think I'll show everyone!" yuck yuck yuck.

Well, I don't like to link "law" with "fashion" because "law" has a boring connotation, but...here goes. Ditto on the spandex thing...but not just spandex shorts, spandex anything. I know of few people who could wear spandex and look good, not only because it's tight and shows every little imperfection, but because it reminds me of those dorky outfits I used to wear to gymnastics in the early 90s...scary. As our house mother once said, "Spandex is a privilege; not a right."

Another thing I have to add is puffed sleeves or big shoulder pads...no no no! They make small boobs disappear, and they make ladies with large chests look like linebackers. Plus, even though they might "even out" your top half and make your derriere look smaller in theory, they really don't. I don't care what anyone says. I'm still P.O.'d about this dress my mom made me wear to a Christmas dance in 8th grade...it had (gasp!) puffed sleeves and a huge bow on the back. Eeeeeeeeeeeeegh...

Miniskirts or shorts that are wider than they are long.

Loooooooong acrylic nails with designs and/or jewels on them.
