Ready To Quit Already

So I was initiated less than a week ago and I think I am already ready to quit. It seems I can't do anything right for the older girls in our chapter.. They have all started saying things to me that I never thought I would hear and when I say something that upsets one of them (even if it was an accident) . I feel so out of place now that i am initiated. Someone help.

We've all been there...or atleast i know i've been there. Give it some time, it should get better. It does take awhile to get used to being on the initiated side of the sisterhood, so i would say just give yourself some more time to get used to it and feel out sorority life. Stay in it atleast for the sisters that you are comfortable with. Dont let a few bad sisters ruin your experience. Trust me on this one, i've been there.

It'll Get Better

uwwsweetie,

I agree with TriSigmaPenny, we have all been there. There are ups and downs in Sisterhood, just like there are in any friendship. It takes awhile to adjust to being "completely" in the group after initiation, but things will level out soon. I'm sorry a few women have had such a negative impact. Try to remember not to let them get you down.
~~Sending you happy thoughts~~

ShyViolet

I think that sometimes it's a little shocking when that "new member glow" wears off. I myself being recently initiated now realize that my chapter has problems too, things aren't great all the time, and unfortunately not everyone can be the best of friends. what you can do to make it better is to band together with the sisters who aren't treating you badly and create a positive place for yourself in the sisterhood. If girls are being unjustly mean to you, try speaking with your VP even though you are now initiated she can still help you iron out transitioning problems or speak to the older girls. you could also try speaking with your big sister. Also, remember that the older girls are older, with each passing year chapters morph and change, members graduate, and you will be able to help select a new member class that may change the way you feel. this might also be the older sisters way of teaching you (I don't know because I don't know all about the sitch). Either way, I wouldn't drop out unless i felt that all of my options for improvement were gone and that i had given it enough time to realize it was just a passing phase. It does happen to everyone, and it doesn't always last

SLAM,
Ashley

I'm glad that you're going to give it some time, and living in the house will be a good move I think, because if nothing else you'll be able to spend alot of time with the other girls in the house and do some close quarters bonding I hope things get better, and being proactive is the best way to bring about change. If you need any more support, your GC sisters are here!!!!

I am so sorry that this is happening and I think that the best course of action is to first chat with your house mom or the president of the chapter. If push comes to shove you may need to straight up let these sisters know that it is not ok for them to treat you this way. Zeta Theta (Pocatello, Id) has your back. Let me know if you need some more help. my email is

Things are actually going a lot better now. My big sis and i have been talking more and more and I have talked with a few of the other girls - they are turning out to be a lot more supportive than I thought, I think a lot of the issues might have been due to my lack of self confidence but ya never know.

So out in ID are you guys around in the summer a lot? I am planning a trip to N. Idaho in August or December... don't know which one yet depends on $
