Was young...Made a huge mistake...

First let me say that I want to pledge grad chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. However, my family and a few friends/collegues EVEN MY HUSBAND, think that I am already a member! I attended a HBCU and stopped attending at the age of 19...when I came home I told everyone about a year later, I had pledged. Met Deltas, went to parties, dated Ques, wore para, even met a Delta from the school I suppose to had pledged at and because I had "fronted and met other Deltas and 'talked'", she challenged me and I passed! We became friends, met other Deltas, and I work at a school now (i'm 26) and the Deltas here know "of me" being a sister and do the call when they see me, etc. I have now received my undergrad and really want to become a Delta. There are grad chapters here but I am afraid someone may recognize me and be like "huh! " So I was thinking about trying to in a city that has a grad chapter close to me other than my hometown. I have stopped "talking" Delta and I no longer have any para (took off keychain, car tag, etc.) and really want to be one FOR REAL. I guess my whole point of coming here is this.... what would you do if you recognized someone who claimed to have already been a sister years ago, sportin' 2004 as their pledge year or wanting to "pledge" PERIOD. I dont know....

It's great that you've matured, and realized your mistake. However, you've got to realize there will be a penalty for your actions.

Wait a minute.... I just re-read your original post......

YOUR HUSBAND doesn't know?????

Sweetie, you've got bigger issues than trying to be a Delta, you've got issues with telling the truth, and when he finds out you're going to have trust issues.

What you do in the dark will surely come out in the light. And with this stunt of exploiting yourself on the internet is one sure way because the internet is not as safe as you think. So hopefully you are ready for the consequences.

I have learned how to tell the truth at this point. When asked something about Delta i simply say "i don't want to discuss that" or if a Delta does a call i simply smile or say how are you, etc.

I really understand your madness, as I have spoke about "perps" before and know the seriousness behind such ways. It has been 6 plus years and I am fed up with lying about it.

I don't expect sympathy. I guess I was looking for a "kind word" I know that is crazy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Y'all take care and be blessed!

You have a problem-for real. You need help. Especially since you are lying to your family. Was being Greek that important?

yeah, it was crazy to expect a kind word.

and what kind of response is "i don't want to discuss that?" be honest and tell people that you are NOT one of MY sorors!

if one of MY sorors acknowledges you as a soror, why smile and say hi? again, i say, be honest and tell THE TRUTH!!!!

perping really and truely bothers me more than i can express. i guess it's because i knew i wanted to be a soror at about the age of 9 and it was another twelve years before i became one. i came to college in 1998 and my want for Delta increased and i wasn't initiated until 2002. i went to college in a totally different city and i could have told people back home that i had pledged, but i didn't. why? because i respected Delta so much that i wanted to come by it honestly.

so you can go on somewhere with that "i don't expect sympathy...i was looking for a kind word," cuz that mess aint flying. and trust and believe that my words were a whole helluva lot kinda than i wanted them to be

Someone pass me a order of HELL NAW with a large glass of Negro Please with no ice.

You got away with it for a little bit but trust and believe if we knew EXACTLY where you were, your cover would be blown to smithereens.

I cannot stand PERPS!!! and PERPS who hate other PERPS is a freaking oxymoron.
