Resume Advice

Don't know if this has been covered before... but question for you all. I am writing a new resume as my previous one obviously SUCKED and has not gotten me any interviews. My college career took some twists and turns. I went to a four year out of HS, HATED IT, went back home and ended up at JC for a year, then transfered to SFSU, where my BA comes from.
I also attended a summer course at a DIFFERENT community college than the one I attended during the regular school term.
What schools do I put on my resume ? I am tempted to put just the schools I recieved some sort of degree from ( I received a certificate from my community college in Music Business.) However.. there then would be gaps in the years in my education... and my freshman year was at a more competetive private university than the State U. I ended up graduating from. Also since I graduated HS quite a bit ago now (6 years) Do I still need to list it ?? I HATE JOB SEARCHING....

Did you graduate from SJSU? If so, skip everything else, and just put that on your resume. Forget putting high school on it-- if you graduated college, people know you went to high school.

Just but the name of the degree. You can put the date if you like. (Depends on your situation).

Resume/College Question

As a rule of thumb, the school you graduate from is the school you should put on your resume . . . unless your AA degree enhances you, or you want to put it on b/c it shows you were out in 4 years. . .

You would be suprised at how many companies hire someone with a background like yours vs a 4-year grad with only 1 internship there last year!

Life experiences are priceless!
