I can't wait until I see this. Anyone else?

I'm almost embarrassed to admit that I don't know much about Che's early life, but I'm going to see this.

Okay, okay, so I'm going to see it because Gael Garcia Bernal is starring, but if I learn something as a result, that's okay, isn't it?

I bought the book a long time ago--probably summer of 2000???--and read it like twice at once. Probably one of the most influential books of my latter high school days. It's a true coming-of-age story, only not so obnoxious and American.

Just seeing this thread brings up so many amazing images from the book. I definately need to reread next time I'm home.

Should be amazing. The text itself is written with such feeling, whatever your political views.

Read the book first. If you're only going for Gael, he has other movies - and they show skin.

The book has a hold list as long as my arm at the library, but I put my name on the wait list. And I think I've worn out my DVD of "Y Tu Mama Tambien" from watching it so much.

Yes. I saw the ad for this at Garden State and decided we're definitely going.

As for Gael García Bernal, the man is gorgeous but I hated Amores Perros and Y Tu Mama Tambien was a little intense for me. This film however, looks outstanding.

Are you kidding? Both of those were great movies.

I like Y Tu Mama Tambien. As for the other one... as soon as Octavio announced he was going to fight his dog we both jumped up to see who could turn off the movie first. Could not handle any more footage of dead dogs. Call me a wuss, I don't care. Wasn't having it.

I have to ditto.... I didn't think there was any seriously bothersome animal violence, and I am really, really squeamish... Amores Perros is an awesome movie. I unfortunately have not seen Y Tu Mama Tambien. It is on my netflix list though.

Well, you're talking to a girl who wanted to become a vegetarian in preschool so I'm probably over sensitive. But yeah... dead dog being drug across a bloody floor? Not a movie I can watch.

A friend saw it and thought it was really good. I always mishear the commercials for it and think they are saying "Motorcycle Driveby" the song by third eye blind woops

It was visually stunning, and the plot was great. The only minor annoyance was that the subtitles could have been easier to read.
