Fired as columnist, then as professor

http://www.cnn.com/2005/EDUCATION/07...nist.fired.ap/

In short, Michael Gee was a sports columnist for the "Boston Herald," one of the two major daily papers in Boston. When the Herald had to make staffing cuts, he was one of the cuts, and was then hired by Boston University to teach an intro journalism class. That quickly ended after he made a post on a sports media message board about one of his students, calling her "incredibly hot" and sensing that there would be "danger, Mr. Robinson."

There's also information about the posting and the aftereffects at: http://www.bostonsportsmedia.com/arc...ots/003013.php

It's just not a good situation. It would have been great for the journalism school to get Gee on faculty (while there are some great journalists on the faculty, there aren't quite as many with sports journalism experience).
