Alumnae recognition

How does your NPC (okay, NIC and NPHC, too!) group recognize alumnae/alumni service?

Alpha Gamma Delta present the Honors of Epsilon Pi. (EPi being our motto.) The Arc is given for service to a local chapter or club; subsequent continuous years are recognized by jewels: arc with pearl, arc with pearls, arc with diamond, arc with diamond and pearl. The Crescent is given for service at the international level (province officer or int'l committee work): the progression goes from plain to pearls and diamonds. Alumnae chapters/clubs keep track of the years of service and (I presume) that IHQ does for the int'l service.

The Circle of Epsilon Pi is given for continued, creative, loyal, etc., etc. service above and beyond the call of duty. Only the wearers of the Circle can decide who should be added to their roster. The presentation, at International Convention, is a great surprise and very, very special.

The symbolism is that the Arc is part of the Crescent which is part of the Circle. In heraldic terms the circle is called an annulet and there are three of them on our coat of arms.

Alpha Sigma Phi awards the Delta Beta Xi key for outstanding alumnus service to the Fraternity over a long period of time. A maximum of ten are awarded each year; often fewer are awarded.

An 'oak leaf cluster' to the Delta Beta Xi key is presented as the Distinguished Service Award.

Alumnae Recognition

The Rose Award is presented for exempliary service to AOII. I was originally a red rose, later became a bracelet, and is now a gold sheaf of wheat charm for a necklace.

The Alumnae Women of Leadership Award is also presented to women who have served the fraternity adn the broader world. Usually around three of these awards are given every two years...

Roses,
Silver
