Atlanta - Passes for the Xpress regional commuter service are now on sale at the MARTA Five Points Ride Store and the North Springs station cashiering facility.
Xpress and MARTA are working together to make using the two transit services together more convenient and seamless for their customers. For riders who use both services each day, a 20-Ride Xpress pass ($45) and MARTA 20 Token Roll ($30) provide the most cost-effective way to make the daily commute. Xpress 31-day passes ($80), good for unlimited rides in a 31-day period, will also be on sale, as well as the full array of MARTA passes and tokens.
"We appreciate MARTA undertaking this effort," said Steve Stancil, Executive Director of the Georgia Regional Transportation Authority. "Many Xpress riders use MARTA to complete their commute trips, and now they, and all Xpress riders, have another convenient place to buy their passes."
"We are glad to provide this service for both GRTA Xpress Bus and MARTA customers," said Nat Ford, General Manager and CEO of MARTA. "This is another great step towards building truly regional transportation system."
Transfers between the Xpress and MARTA are free, using a bus-to-rail transfer to move from Xpress to MARTA and a MARTA rail-to-bus transfer or current weekly or monthly MARTA TransCard to transfer from MARTA to Xpress. The systems connect at the MARTA Five Points, Peachtree Center, Civic Center and North Springs stations. (No transfer is necessary at North Springs as the Xpress coaches operate inside the station.)
