Also looking for songs

Does anyone have any real Kappa songs as mp3 files? I am creating a senior video and would really like to have Oh Pat or something on it. Thanks.

I don't have any, but if you make a file of KKG songs I know we'd love to have them for EK chapter!

I don't have any regular Kappa songs, but I can offer you a song that was written by a Kappa from our chapter and is an unofficial Kappa song. It's really sweet and pretty and talks about lasting friendships.

Lyrics:
They have smiles that shimmer like the sun
On the ocean when the day is nearly done
Their laughter takes the rattle from my mind and my bones
In troubled water they're my stepping stones

And these friends of mine
Burn bright through time
Brilliantly shine
When life puts me to the test
I know I'm at my best
When I am with these friends of mine

Sometimes I need their consolation
Sometimes I just need their conversation
Sometimes I need them to believe in what I say
Sometimes I need them to make it through the day

And these friends of mine
Burn bright through time
Brilliantly shine
When life puts me to the test
I know I'm at my best
When I am with these friends of mine

There are things inside myself
That belong to something else
A friendship is measured in emotional degrees
And each unlocked with a golden key

And these friends of mine
Burn bright through time
Brilliantly shine
When life puts you to the test
You'll be at your best
If you have friends like mine

Let me know what you think.

Perhaps it'll be a hootshinpaloozaree. I don't know.

This is beautiful! Do you happen to know what the tune is? Also, what chapter are you from?

These Friends of Mine - song

Back in the mid-to-late ’90s, my close friend and bandmate Maggie—who was a Kappa at Iowa State—wrote a song called "These Friends of Mine." We were in a band together called Good Things, and in 1997, we recorded and released our album "Fit the Groove." The song was included as a hidden track on the CD.

Maggie wrote it about the incredible friendships she formed with her sorority sisters, realizing early on that these relationships were truly special. The song reflects the idea that you can always count on these friends—whether in tough times or through something as simple as a smile to brighten your day. It was written specifically for Kappa Kappa Gamma and includes references to the sorority in the lyrics, such as "the golden key." I remember Maggie submitting it to the National KKG and even performing it at a large regional chapter meeting.

The reason I’m sharing this now is that I recently remastered and re-released "Fit the Groove" on all major streaming platforms. While looking into the song’s history, I was surprised to find this post and someone posted the lyrics! Seeing that people remember it is amazing.

So, if you’d like to hear it, "These Friends of Mine" is now available on Spotify, iTunes, Amazon—pretty much everywhere. Keep in mind, we were just 20-year-old kids figuring out music and recording, but I think there’s something charming about its low-fi, folky vibe.

I hope you all enjoy it!

You can see my post below for the quick story about the song "These Friends of Mine." But here is a link to Spotify as I just recently remastered and released it.
