Do people ever ask, "So is your sis. sorority......?"or vice versa?
On my campus, San Francisco State U., people always and I mean always ask me, "So is your sister sorority Alph Phi?" They probably ask this because my fraternity, Phi Kappa Tau, always kicks it with them. or people ask, "So is your sister sorority Delta Gamma?" How people knew we, FKT, ever had a thing called, "Leadership Academy" with DG is crazy. Before, joinning FkT I knew nothing about that or DGs because they are not on my campus. As far as I am concerned, I like it when people think this way. It makes me think that my organization is doing good shit to keep the strong bond with Alpha Phi, and with DG will nothing to say but, "Hey ladies whats up? Y'all ever in SF, come visit our new frat. house. We move in Aug.1st and it should be fun. We will throw some crazy shitnik."

Hey, come to think of it, we did learn something about T*E*A*M... but I don't know if that's the same thing as "Leadership Academy"... All I know is that we formed it with the Phi Delts, A Chi O's, and some other fraternity that we don't have on our campus... so maybe that's what you're talking about?
PS-I just learned recently that the Phi Delts aren't actually our brother fraternity... we had always been told that b/c George Banta was DG and Phi Delt.

A lot of people assumed we were AEPi's sister sorority. A lot of my sisters did hang out there, some of them dated brothers, one of my sisters was lavaliered, we had summer rush parties with them, etc. - the groups were close, but not a brother/sister type thing.
When AEPhi first colonized, I got questions like "Oh, when did AEPi go coed?" and "Oh, so you're a little sister of AEPi?" You would think that at an engineering school, people could tell the difference between pi and phi.

TEAM was a leadership retreat formed by DG, Phi Tau, and I believe FIJI went along with it also. Two of my pledge sisters went the semester after we were initiated but after that it wasn't offered anymore. I don't remember what happened to it.
DG and Phi Delt are considered Brother/Sister Fraternities, however, they are not officially our brother Fraternity....check out the website ( i believe under fun facts, but not sure ).

Alpha Xi Delta is our unofficial sister sorority. Their chapter here makes CERTAIN that our new guys know it
Our men Lombard College (now Delta Theta Chapter at Knox) played a major hand in their organization and then their going national.
They've always been our strongest supporter amongst sororities.

While Zeta has no official brother fraternity, on my campus we have 2 unofficial brother fraternities, just guys we tend to hang out with a lot. I am sure it's the same at other schools, just with different fraternities.
One of the groups is Pi Kappa Phi, and if you ask that chapter, they will tell you that ZTA is their sister sorority. A lot of us hang out there, there's always Zetas and Pi Kapps dating, and a bunch of our girls have been lavaliered by Pi Kapps. We call it the "Zeta-Pi Kapp Connection." But basically, they're good guys who help us out a lot and mix with us a lot.
The other is Sigma Chi, another group that a lot of the sisters hang out with, date, and a couple of girls have gotten lavaliers from the brothers. We mix with them a lot. There's also a place near campus that's known as the unofficial "Sigma Chi bar," and if you go in on a Friday night, you'll also see a ton of Zetas hanging out.

ZTA from C of C-
Yeah, we kinda have the same sort of deal here... I know we hang out with the Pi Kapps a lot, and usually try to have a mixer per semester with them... also, one of our sisters just got married to a Pi Kapp (and my real sister is married to a Pi Kapp) so there are a lot of strong ties, there...
However, I don't consider them our brother fraternity, either, b/c there's that lack of the historical bonds. There are a couple of sororities and fraternities that hang out a lot together here, too... the Southern Triad (ATO.KA.SAE) and Southern Belles (Tri-Delt.ZTA.KD) in particular, but I don't think they'd consider themselves brother/sister fraternities/sororities, either.
I don't know if it's just because of what I was taught during my new member period, but I think that TRUE brother/sister organizations have strong ties (like Phi Delt, Beta Theta Pi, and Sigma Chi have, or like DG and Phi Delt have) that will never be broken no matter who hangs out with whom.
