Date Party Themes
Hi! I was just wondering what kinds of date party themes your chapters have done. We have done Mardi Gras, Hawaiian, Tacky Formal (everyone dresses in 80's style formals), Jungle Boogie, and Orange Crush, among many others.

For our informal dances we have done a PJ party (which was my personal favorite because I didn't have to bother about finding a special outfit...plus it was comfy!!) and a Rhinestone Cowboy party.

Let's see...we've done Chicks and Hicks, Italian Wedding, Find a Mister for Your Sister (the best!), Almost Famous, 50's, Dancing Queens (70's), Ghetto Superstar, Sloppy Seconds (thrift clothes), Wet and Wild (Luau style), High School Sweethearts, 10-year Reunion (what will you be in 10 years?), My tie (boys bring a tie, girls pick one out, find the owner of your tie, and that's your date!)

I don't know if everyone else does it too...but it's called "abduction" !!! It is one of my favorite things! Let me know if you do it also...or if you want to know what it is all about.

First of all, LilPiPhiHoney (who started this thread) is my grand-big, and she graduated last year.
Second, since she started this thread, we've had a toga party, a PJ party, and a semi-formal themed "Pi Phi's Prince Charming". I'm the new social chairman, and I'm looking for a theme for our informal date party next Fall... Several members have suggested a "golden age of Hollywood" theme, but I'm not exactly how easy it would be to put that together.

Golden Age of Hollywood shouldn't be any tougher than any of the other themes! Think glamour, drinks in fluted glasses (you can get plastic ones in the dollar store), finger foods, movie posters, big band music... the dollar stores would have good decorations for a movie theme.

We did Pi Phi "Pair-adise" where everyone came as famous pairs. My boyfriend and I went as Ward and June Cleaver, my best friend and her date went as a fat kid and cake (she decorated a white t-shirt like a cake), and another girl and her date did a lime and Corona.

These people haven't posted since 2004. I doubt any of them will be responding.

Go to the "social" sub-forum. There should be some more recent threads in there.

"Find a mister for your sister" is where each member brings a date...for someone else.
