Were You A Weird Kid?

A little earlier today I was watching my 2 year old nephew being well...a typical 2 year old (he was attempting to eat dirt at the time and chase the cat with a rake) and I wondered something...."What wierd stuff did I do as a kid?". After I talked to my sisters and my parents I discovered that I was a pretty odd child, that's for sure...lol!

I did:
- Instead of crawling I scooted around on my butt using my legs as propulsion.
- I didn't speak til I was 6 years old (my private school I went to as a youngster thought I was mentally handicapped)
- I didn't walk til I was 3 and even then I prefered other modes of transportation..aka..sisters took me everywhere, lol
- I had a knack for making bow & arrow kits out of some twings and string (age 7)
- I enjoyed shooting small woodland creatures a bit too much..(taught to shoot at age 8)
- I prefered to read my sister's books rather than my own (she was in college and I was in 4th grade)

So, how were you an odd kid?

Never ever slept in my own bed. I used to fall asleep on bookshelves, in huge boxes filled with toys, on top of a stereo, you name it I slept there.

I also never talked in school. The only thing on my report card would be, she never talks yada yada yada.

I slept with my parents, in their bed until I was 7 years old

I would pee in my pants from laughing..... went all the way up through high school!

I would pull tshirts up through my head, but not take them off, and pretend it was my "hair" while wearing my mom's high heels!

Yes, I was weird.

1). I was so horribly shy that I would always get my pre-school teacher to ask my own friends if I could play with them...every day.

2). I had this unnatural obsession with history, and I started reading The Kentucky Explorer magazine in elementary school.

3). I used to draw all the time, but the people I drew never had on shorts or jeans or anything like that. Nope, the people in my pictures always had on 19th-century clothes...this was in elementary school. (I now study costume history, how about that?)

4). I was so afraid of the school building burning down while I was in it that it made me physically ill to go up on the third floor because I was scared I wouldn't be able to get out in time.

Is that weird enough for you, or do you want me to go on?

Was I bad, Hell NO, I was mischevious!

Before Kindergarden, I had a Library Card. Reading books at 4 years of age! In 6 th grade, a test was given and could be a Freshman in College!!

Then, Found women in the 7 th Grade!

OMG....i soooo did that, too!

ok, my weirdness:

1) i would walk around grocery stores/malls with my mom with either a limp or with my eyes closed (acting like i was blind) so i would get attention from other shoppers--"ooh, look at that lil girl.....isn't she sweet.....poor thing" mom would do that arm-yank thing, though, and i was HEALED!!! hallelujah!!
2) i would always call my mom out when she needed to shave her legs.......in the grocery store line with a billion ppl around, at the park, etc.......i think she didn't start liking me until i was about 8
3) when i would take baths, i would use my underwear (clean, of course) as a shower cap....somehow i thought those 2 holes up there would still protect me from gettin my hair wet....i have excellent child bath pics.....
4) i thought i would a) go down the drain and b) that aliens were coming JUST for me--that whole seeking intelligent life thing, ya know....
5) my barbie and ken dolls were always doin it.....don't know where i got this from, but they were always basically in a nudist colony....oy
6) i thought there were monsters/witches under my bed, so i refused to sleep in my bed, but rather ON THE FLOOR (logic what?)
7) i would always "get sick" at 10:30 everyday in the 3rd grade and go to the clinic.....otherwise known as math class


there's more, i'm sure, but that's all i got for now......weird kid.

Don't worry, AlphaGamDiva, I think everyone's Ken and Barbie were always "doing it."

I used to eat cat food... which, in retrospect, is a bit odd. But in all honesty, I think I am weirder now than ever!

I can totally relate to the bath tub fear.....
I saw Ghostbusters 2, and after I saw it I NEVER took a bath during my childhood...I think I was the only Seven year old I knew to take showers and of course without using the curtains....

I was convinced if I turned my bedknobs on my bed (of course from the movie), it would start flying and take me to exotic places. Me and my friends would play and act like we were stuck on a deserted island, and my bed was the island.

I liked playing in the closet and in the dark. HOW weird is that? I had a Barbie that's skirt glowed in the dark and I would spend HOURS in the closet (funny, I am now claustrophobic)

In public I would talk in Korean and bust people and make my dad laugh.....my dad. Damn, that was a nice memory

I picked up bad words from my dad and taught all the neighborhood kids and got in MAJOR trouble...lol

My Poodles had floppy ears and I would put hair clips on them to make them pretty and I also would make them wear my clothes.

After Poltergist, dude, I NEVER touched the TV unless my dad was around.

Oh, yeah, I never got what "doing it" was....no for real. I didnt know what sex was until I was in 4th grade. I thought babies came from kissing or the "grandmother" (korean folklore lady) would bring the baby...

I thought I was the only one! That was only for a short span of my life, though. Today I have a gaggle of collectors' editions.
