Important day today.....

A couple of PMs yesterday jogged my memory. Today is the 8th day of the 8th month. By my math, that puts us at 169 years.

Damn! Almost forgot about it. I'm heck of a lot more excited about 169 years of Beta than I am about the Bejing Olympics.

Reporting from my hotel room at the Dallas Fairmont, home of the 169th General Convention, I can say that the eighth day of the eighth month definitely didn't go unnoticed.

At today's banquet luncheon, each speaker mentioned the date's siginificance, and as well- it was common for Brothers to greet each other with "Happy Founders' Day"

I'll keep you all up to date with the goings on here as I learn more.

At the moment I know that the University of Iowa and UC-Irvine were both granted their charters. Other colonies are scheduled for presentations to the legislature, I will let you know the details tomorrow.
