The Greek Life office on your campus would notify the National Panhellenic Conference(NPC) that the campus was open for expansion. NPC would make an announcement to its 26 members that your campus was open for expansion. Interested sororities would send information packets to the director of Greek Life on your campus. Your college Panhellenic would choose which groups would come to campus and make presentations. A vote would be taken, and an invitation extended to a group to form a colony. But here's the rub: since there is already an interest group, it may not follow the usual format. Sometimes, the colonizing sorority would rather choose their own founding members, so they would not be interested in the interest group. Sometimes, the colonizing sorority will take some, but not all of the interest group. Sometimes the interest groups gets to reach out to the sorority(ties) the group wants to become a colony of. Your best bet would be to ask the Greek Life advisor to explain how this will work for your group.
