Where is everyone?
Where did all the Chi O's go?
Am I the only one bored at work now?
What have you all been up to?

I'm always bored at work! But sometimes I have to look busy. And I have to admit I've been spending a lot of time on theknot.com!!!
Nut, how was your vaca? Back just in time before the tropical storm hits! Whew!

Well Kathy, I am always ears for wedding plans. It's tons of fun to listen to!
I'm doing alright. Lots of work to do. It seems like I am always running from one place to another. This weekend I rested, but I can't do that any more! I have essays to write, security deposits to get back, new apartments to look for (yes I am moving again!).
Lil' Chi O- How have you been? What is your typical week like?

I have been busy traveling with work. I also just moved into a new place that I absolutely love in downtown Orlando! I should be able to check in more now!

Hey ladies! I have been out for a while, went to FL to visit my family for a while. And then packing up to move out of my apartment and back into the Chi O house for the fall. That took FOREVER. And I am realizing that rush retreat is less than 2 weeks away and in 3 and a half weeks, I am going to have a pledge class to teach and I am very NOT prepared. So it is time to get crackin and spend some quality time with my GM handbook! I am trying to mentally gear myself up for a busy fall after a chilled out summer. Oh boy. . .

Sounds exciting!
Can you post pictures? How many bedrooms? Do you rent like I do or are you a homeowner?
Lill Chi O- What class are you taking? What is your major?
CardinalSM- Congrats on being GM!!! I was GM back in teh day. If you have any questions, pm me!
I have exciting news.... So, AMCAS (american medical college application service) finally verified my application! And today I got a secondary from the Univeristy of Southern California AND a letter from Washington Univeristy in St. Louis saying they think I am a competitive canidate and should apply. Wash U is one of the best med schools in the country, and I am a bit floored that they would think I am a good canidate... but hey!!! It has made my day.

Congrats, Michelle!
Hey, we have that new chapter at Washington U - they could use some help I bet. Though I'm not sure a med student has much spare time!!!

I've been MIA for about the last two weeks because things have actually picked up at work and now I spend the majority of every day running around like a chicken with it's head cut off. It's slowing down a little now though so I should be able to check in a little more often. I've also been really busy at night after work so I haven't really even had a chance to log on at all.
Sounds like things are going well for everyone. Please keep the updates coming. I'm in the process of looking for a new job. I'll let you all know that goes.

Congrats on the letter Michelle! Thats awesome Though I have to say, it would be nice to have you in LA.
and I have to "ditto" everything Michelle said
As for me, I've finally got a permanent lab, so I can start concentrating on my thesis project. It's going to have to do with a protein family that appears to be part of a molecular stress response/immune response. I have 4-5 years to go, now that I've got a lab and a topic. Just so y'all know, this sort of thing usually takes 6 years or so. I know people who've done it in 4 years and people who've taken 10 years. I guess that's what a biology PhD is about, though - research, research, publish, and research some more
ETA: I've already finished one year....
