Slow down. You need to learn humility and your place in the organization (right now at the bottom) before you start to dictate housing policy. More than likely, you have a house corporation and any sort of renovation is entirely up to them. The active chapter shouldn't have to worry about raising money, the alumni chapter should be on that.
In short, forget about this. If nothing is done 5 years from now when you are an alumnus, then you might look into organizing your alumni chapter or convincing them that the time is now to raise money.
At that point, I'd advise you to look at a Chapter Educational Foundation (CEF) fund. But you're not even a candidate yet. And really, being cocky on a Sigma Nu board with alums and initiates from other chapters is something that could potentially not go well for you.
Congratulations on signing, but your journey with Sigma Nu is just beginning.
