Since the primary season is in full swing, who do you think will be the Democrats choice for running for president? Who do you think will be his running mate?

Kerry will win by the looks of it and if he can get Edwards he will so he can try to win over the south.

I'm guessing at this point it could be Kerry or Dean. You never know though the way this race has been going.

Dean's shooting himself in the foot - he's conceded that he will probably lose all of the primaries today, but has said he will still run...although the Democratic National Committee Chairman has said that anyone who hasn't won a primary after today should seriously consider stepping out. Dean has also already spent most of his money on hand; he went for broke in N.H. and Iowa and didn't leave much for the rest of the campaign.

I think it's going to be Kerry...he's getting more endorsements and more money every day.

Probably going to be Kerry but I am still gunning for Clark. ALSO where the Hell is everybody in Wisconsin except for Dean and Clark? We're having a freaking debate in less than two weeks and there's no visibility for other candidates.

We were discussing this the other day at the office:

If Dean loses the Democratic Primaries (which appears likely), do you think he'll run as an Independent?

I think Kerry is going to win the nomination.

No. It would probably be political suicide for any of the remaining candidates to run as independents. It would draw votes away from the party nominee and would help Bush. I hope all the Democratic candidates that lose in the primary run as independents.

Dean has said he will not run as an independent if he loses the primaries; like madmax said, it would be political suicide if he did so (although some may say he's in the process of committing it right now).

i think some of the candidates are going to start showing up more in Wisconsin, but this group of primaries is so crucial that they've committed themselves to them.

I can totally understand that - but starting tomorrow, I want some more appearance here. We're actually a fairly good microchasm - we've got everything here. I'm just frustrated about being ignored by so many of the candidates - if I wasn't voting for Clark I don't know who I would vote for because we've gotten so little attention from them.

My roommate and I are all in favor of this option. Too bad NJ's primary is so late that it never matters anyway.

Leiberman was extremely gracious in defeat; he really is a true party man, and although I don't support him politically I respect him for that.

The fact that Dean continues to run shows that he is in fact not a party man. He lost badly in all of the primaries, finishing behind Al Sharpton in South Carolina. There's no way he should still be in the race; it's still early, but his results have been awful.

Although, I would have loved to see Edwards as the presidential frontrunner...I think that the Kerry/Edwards ticket sounds good to me. This will give Edwards some much needed experience.

I think the Joe was pretty cool about the defeat as well.

I'm voting Democrat all the way in November, though; I don't care who's on the ticket. No more W!
