I know not many people do this for fun, but I'm currently cross-stitching the DZ crest and thinking about making it into a pillow for my Big Sister. DZ-online sells smaller and more simple patterns, and if you know how to sew, this might be a good idea.

Cross-stitching is a great, inexpensive way to make gifts for your Big Sis. I got a DZ pattern book at the local Greek store when I was in college and did the Killarney rose for my Big Sis. My Grandma helped me turn the material into a sachet bag and we put potpourri inside. My Big absolutely loved it, and still has it to this day (8 years later). It's a great keepsake.

Hey dzturtle,

Here's another thought. Since your turtle buddy is a senior, maybe you could get her a leather-bound datebook or planner with her name engraved on the front. I got one of those for my graduation and it has been invaluable to me since I started working in the 'real world'. As a matter of fact, it's sitting next to me right now!

I don't know what shops are near you, but I assume most malls have a shop or two that carry this kind of gift and can personalize it for you. And, best of all, they're not extremely expensive.

Good luck!
Carrie
