General Membership Question

I read on the AKA national site that if you attend a 4-year college/university that doesn't have a chapter, a nearby graduate chapter in your college community willing to sponsor you can recommend you to the Regional Director for General Membership in the Sorority. However, I've never seen or heard of anyone who's done this recently. Is it still true?

I would imagine an organization like AKA would have accurate membership intake information on its website.

Well if a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha hasn't answered your question on this public forum, then there might be a reason they cannot answer that particular question.
