What is Your Claim to Fame
This thread prob. been done, but I'm too lazy to wait in the search due to my 56k modem.
My claim to fame, I was an extra for the Basketball Diary.
ETA: After that 2 days experience, I knew I didn't want to be a movie star. The hours sucks, the food sucks, and the AD was a major a-hole.

I was in the Corps of Cadets at A&M. Before all home football games, the entire corps forms up on the Quad (grassy area admist the Corps Dorms) and marches parade-style to Kyle Field and on the track around the field to be reviewed by a reviewing officer.
The Commanding Officer of each outfit always leads, is about 5 steps in front of the block with the outfit guidon(flag) a pace behind and to his.......right? (not sure) Anyway, the Executive Officer(like the VP) gets to lead one march-in each year. My senior year in the Corps (4 out of 6 at A&M) i was the XO for my outfit. The XO march-in was supposed to be the KSU game in 2000, but my CO had a bunch of familiy coming in and asked if i'd switch to lead the OU game instead.
That was the fall of 2000, when OU came to Kyle Field and we were on Game Day. At the end of the Pre-Game Show on ESPN, they started to cut to commercials over scenes from march-in, Guess who was seen close up on national TV leading his Corps outfit?

I was one of those featured kids in the TV show "Romper Room" (I barely even remember the activities I did) and was also asked back to be on the special Anniversary show, which I did of course.
I was an extra for the movie "Married to It" with Cybil Shepheard, Mary Stuart Masterson, and Beau Bridges. I had to pretend some guy was my dad and we had to keep walking up and down these school steps and have this fake conversation about how school went.
I did a lot of print modeling when I was younger, so I'm on the cover of a parenting book and am supposedly in numerous text books that I'll never see.
I was interviewed on the news twice... once outside of FAO Schwartz talking about all of the presents I got for Christmas, and it was New Kids on the Block this and that. The second time was when my friends and I got stopped during trick-or-treating. The reporter asked me what my favorite candy was, "My favorite candy is Reeses-Peanut Butter Cups."
But besides those, I hold 1 claim to fame very dear to my heart and I brag about this to people because I just think it's really funny. In 4th grade, I made it all the way to the state competion for the Elks Free Throw Contest, placing 1st in my school, town, and other counties in my state. I got trophies, plaques, and my picture in the newspaper twice. Nerves must have gotten the worst of me at states because I was off that day. Nonetheless, I beat all of those little girls, shooting Granny-style!
Edited to add: And how could I forget about those 2 school posters I was on? Oh yeah, I looked awful and they were plastered in every dorm and office, oh how I just *loved* it when people would come up to me and be like "Hey you're on that poster!"

I was on a Japanese children's television show when I was about 4-years-old. I think I was on about 4 episodes. I would have to give the English word for the different pictures that one of the other kids was holding up. So, basically my job was to teach the Japanese kids English.

I was in the Macy's Parade in 1992 and I was on TV for about 10 seconds.
A few years ago I did a dance piece at Grand Central and CNN did a special interest story on it. They interviewed me. My cousin saw it one night drunk at the fraternity house. He kept telling everyone I was his cousin, and no one believed him.
Oh, I was also in a promotional video for my university - they showed me doing a dance routine (I was on the pom squad). Don't know if they're still using it, though...

I appeared in numerous Real World Hawaii episodes. Each appearance lasted about a few seconds. Most of them were club or campus footage.
I've been on ESPN not once, but twice...happy and semi-drunk. The first was against BYU. It was a hot day and I had taken off my shirt and had my bikini bra and shorts on. I held up a sign that said "I GO LOLO 4 ROLO". Two seconds later, I got a phone call from my mom yelling at me to put my shirt back on. The second came against Alabama. Again, it was a day game so off the shirt went. This time I had beer in hand, but mom saw me AGAIN.
I've done local commercials for Unity House, Hawaii State Teachers Assocation, and campaign promos for former Hawaii Gov. Ben Cayetano. I've also done print ads for Liberty House (now Macy's), JCPenney, and Sears.

As a child, I was in cub scouts. I was selected to appear in spots promoting the Boy Scouts' biggest fundraiser -- Trail's End Popcorn. I appeared on the Barry Switzer Show with Jamelle Holliway and Charles Thompson (Barry Switzer was an OU coach that brought home 3 National Championships, you'd probably only know the other two if you followed OU football in the 80's). I also appeared in a spot with then Oklahoma Governor, Henry Bellman.
In college I was an anchor/reporter for my university's new channel. I anchored 2-3 nights per week each week, I had way more than my 15 minutes of fame
Even got "recognized" around town a few times...

No, Kitso was not an honorary Chi-O his senior year! "XO" is military jargon for Executive Officer, or second in command
My claim to fame is that I was first runner up in the 1984 Dorseyville Corn Queen pageant; the highlight of the yearly Dorseyville Corn Carnival!!!

I was in an audience shot for the mickey mouse club. At the end of the show they did an autograph signing. I kick myself for not getting the autographs. Britney, Christina, Justin, JC, and Keri Rusell were all there before they were famous of course.
