Last I heard from Jason Pearce (IHQ's High Tech guru) was that it's a work in progress. Since our resources aren't extensive, this process may take until the next school year (just my hunch).

For those interested in utilizing updated graphics (vector, not the old-time stuff), that's part of the package. That'll help all of the chapters doing printed (or Web) newsletters.

It will probably come after the fraternity's purchase of the new data/records management software this year. The current system will no longer be receiving support after this year from the vendor and it is very old. So old that financial, membership, organizational, etc data are on different systems. Its part of the reason that HQ is slow in responding at times. They have to go intot two different systems to correct the rosters that we send in and then change what chapter owe. Theres a whole 'nother system for insurnace and such. This new system will integrate all of that into one system and allow undergrads to handle their paperwork via web interface. Gamma's and Alphas will be able to do rosters on-line and the financial stuff will be updated automatically, chapters can apply for premium insurance credits instantly, etc.

This will free up staff for other projects. As I understand it many current staff hours are devoted to data entry.

I would imagine the new site would debut after that. Jason Pearce currently spends a lot of his time patching, fixing and keeping the old system afloat.

Smile

Noticed digital LX is off of the listing.

It was the second Site processors in a very short time and left Us in the lurch.

Jason is doing a Great Job so far, but like an old inner tube, it could only be patched so many times before it went FLAT.

It seems and as I related to Kip Z, that Navigation always seemed to be a problem with all of the information that is actually on LXA Site.

Just check some of the other National Sites and see what they do not have.

I ama not a PC guru my any stretch of the imagination, but am glad We at least have what We have compared to the others.

Nice to see it being updated. Hopefully with all the new databases and information available, that it will be available to brothers.

At our regional conference in Oklahoma City this past february I spoke to the Grand High Theta and he showed me a model of another website HQ's is developing that will be a brothers only message board/info type site. The preliminary draft is online but I forgot the web address.

He mentioned the national site being overhauled, but didn't give me a deadline.
