Juicy Campus Gone

Hi everyone,
I posted this on the recruitment board but just in case you didn't hear, Juicy Campus is no longer online...there is a blog about it if you want to google...that is such great news as that site has been so detrimental to the greek system at so many college's. They stated the reason was due to the economy and ad revenue...

My daughter shared the happy news with me about the end of Juicy Campus during our daily phone conversation yesterday. Her sorority, along with all the others on her campus, have at one time or another had horrible things said about them. She is very glad to see that after today, Juicy Campus will be history.

Wow, I've been lurking for awhile but never post..have gotten great info from this site..but won't be starting anymore threads.. just trying to get the word out..as so many have expressed thier dislike for JC..thanks for making me feel welcome....OTW..you have a horrible attitude in almost ALL of your posts...

I don't think all that's necessary. I'd be willing to bet that the majority of GC members merely click "New Posts" upon returning to the site. I, too, am annoyed when I do so and see the same thing a million times in the list. My eyes tend to rush past them thinking they are spam selling Nikes at a great price. Not only does it clutter things up, but it doesn't foster good discussion. In this case there would be what - 3 or 4 different threads going on? It's best to allow everyone to express their opinions and thoughts in a single thread rather than follow all of them. Sure there might be the occasional poster who doesn't do the New Posts thing, but if they want to talk about JC, they'll find out where the conversation is going on.

As for making you feel welcome, if you like having rainbows shoved up your butt and a thread where everyone is throwing a party because you are here, this is not the place. If you've lurked here (and posted), then that should have already been obvious. No need for flouncing when it doesn't happen.

I've been around forever and read GC almost every day. But I don't post a lot, because a lot of it would be simply repeating the same advice or opinions that someone else has already posted. Again, I hate the clutter and reading the same things over and over again.
