I was thinking about this yesterday! November bring Twilight and James Bond. It's going to be a movie month!

I just started listening to Twilight on audiobook yesterday. So far it seems great.

I'm thinking of picking up Twilight. The movie was shot up here in the Pac NW, so I'm sure it will be both beautiful and dark, and I find it funny that people are actually journeying to Forks from all over the world. Forks is in the middle of nowhere, granted it's a pretty part of the state. The town has uncovered a new source of income - "vampire" tours!

Just stumbled across this thread. We are big Twilight fans at our house! I am even letting my high school daughter go to the midnight showing of the movie this Thursday night (a School night!).
If you have not read Stephanie Meyer's other book, The Host, then you are missing a good one. It is totally different than the twilight series, probably more adult oriented, and science fiction.
I truly never read science fiction, so I was hesitant, but I also never read vampire stories and look where that got me! I really liked it and definitely recommend it.

I picked up Twilight in the airport last week, and now I'm hooked.
I will be picking up the other three books sometime this week.

I'm glad I'm not the only one! I read it and immediately wanted a sequel or a television series...there just seems to be more to tell.

I swear I posted here early this morning. I'm not letting my daughter go to the midnight Thursday night/friday showing, primarily because I'm not staying up that late to drive her home.. I have to work Friday. We do have tickets for the 7:15 or 7:30 showing Friday evening. I bought tickets for the girlie, 4 of her friends and me. They even said they'd let me sit with them.. a rare thing for teenagers!

I read in the USA Weekly "magazine" that comes with our newspaper, that they are already in production for a New Moon movie. Although I love the series of books, if they were going to make a sequel of Twilight they seriously should have skipped over New Moon. It's goign to be such a waste of money, I seriously doubt if I'd ever see it (shoot we don't even know if Twilight will be good) and that will be a killer for an Eclipse (which i think is the best of the books) movie.

I think they are waiting to see how well Twilight does in terms of box office numbers. I just got it last Thursday, finished it Friday evening (after work), and I bought New Moon last night, and I am already finished with it.

I will be attending a Twilight viewing party and there will be a photographer from our local newspaper covering our party. It should be fun.

So if you haven't watched the movie, and don't want to know ANYTHING about it, then don't read my post! lol
I'm undecided how I feel about the movie. One part of me likes that it didn't drag, and another is just really annoyed about the parts they altered/left out for no reason.
There are the big things like:
In the book, Jacob is the one that tells Bella that Edward is a vampire. In the movie, Bella makes the discovery herself. I really don't understand why they changed the scene.
When Bella & Edward are at the Cullen house, Edward talks about the Volturi. In the movie, there is no mention of the Volturi.
I don't have my book with me, but I could have sworn the book ended w/ Bella's birthday party. In the movie, it ends with Victoria (seriously wtf?)
Then there are the little things like:
At La Push, they weren't surfing, they were at a bonfire.
I don't remember ever reading that Edward calls Jacob a "wolf."
The story of how the other Cullens change is left out. (I think we only read about Carlisle and Esme....maybe Emmett)
I DID like the castings. Jessica and Mike were soooo what I thought of when I read it. (Interesting choice of ethnicities for the other characters)
I still don't like Rob for Edward, or Nikki for Rosalie. I LOOOOOOOOVE Alice. She translates better on film than in pictures, and it is so what I thought of Alice (although I always pictured Alice shorter, more childlike)
Jacob is HOT. And the actor that plays Billie Black is a lot different than what I pictured. I always thought Billie was older (with white hair) and in the movie, he's pretty freakin attractive.

It did, but only because it was a "preview" of New Moon.
