I go to Sonic occasionally mostly for soft drinks or grilled cheese, also love the tots. Someone informed me that i was suppose to tip -really? If so how much should I tip for a 1.50 coke? I don't tip at McDonalds so why Sonic??

I disagree about the price. I think In N Out is generally cheaper... but I don't get the double double.. just a cheeseburger...and you have to order your fries "well done" they are crispier that way.. and add salt because they don't. my complaint about in N out though... they are SLOOOOWWW and CROWDED.

I like the kinda soggy/greasy fries from In-N-Out. Dick's has the same kind, and they're yummy.

LOVE Sonic. There's one just down the street. I will not succumb!
LOVE In-n-Out. I go whenever I visit my sister in San Diego.
They just built a few Whataburgers around Birmingham. Good burgers, but fries ... not so much.
The best burger is this little hole-in-the-wall place down the street from my house. Also Fatburger and Ruby's out West too!

There's a Sonic near my house. The servers don't wear the rollerskates, though.
I went to one when I was on vacation last December with my family in a suburb near Nashville and the servers were wearing rollerskates. This is the first time I ever saw that in a Sonic restaurant.
When I was in Louisville, there is a dine in (not drive-in) Sonic restaurant and I was like "What the heck?"
I love the tots!

I'm sure most of you know that the rollerskate thing is from the fifties and sixties when "carhops" at drive ins often wore skates.
At the Sonics around here, some do, some don't.
I give bigger tips to the servers who do.
And, on the subject of tips, after my mom and dad divorced when I was very young, she had to work as a carhop and waitress for a while just to survive. (I don't think she ever wore roller skates, though.) Because of that, I've always tipped well.
Given the wages I'm sure they make, as long as I can afford to do so, I'll happilly tip any server.

Miss Sonic
I discovered Sonic while doing an internship in Texas (as well as Cracker Barrel). Love Sonic bacon/cheese burger, a diet buster, and tater tots.
Then returned to CA, don't think they are anywhere in central valley.
I was housesitting for a friiend in southern Oregon year ago, a Sonic opened off the interstate, people drive in from miles around to it.

Sonic ads on T.V. piss me off. The closest one to me is 90 miles away and everytime I see a new commercial I want one of those burgers or drinks so damn bad.
I think they do it on purpose those beaches!

I went and got my float...but I was a little too early. It was only 99 cents though...
Sonic is right down the street from me...they'll be seeing a lot of me this summer!!
