I guess I probably should've phrased it in that while there are many Sephardic Jews in the US, there are more Ashkenazi Jews. It is because of this that American Jews are typically stereotyped as having white skin. Most people don't even recognize a Sephardic Jew when they see one because they probably believe the person is Hispanic.

WTH????
Earlier you posted the following:
"I would never claim for my friends who are black to be anything more than casual friends"
"I just plain don't have that much in common with them"

My question to you:
Why would you be friends with those you do not share anything in common with??

You're not making things better for yourself.

Surely Rudey knows that the the second quote is a social commentary that supports our point and not his.

Surely Rudey knows that the third quote also supports our point and not his. The fact that people feel they have to highlight articulation is not a coincidence. It is extremely deliberate and often used when the person is perceived to defy a particular stereotype. How you perceive the stereotype and its defiance is a matter of social context.

The descriptive of "articulate" has not always been used to convey the message that a person is tremendously clear and concise in his/her message. It was, and still is, used when someone is just able to speak a basic sentence void of slang, broken English or any stereotypical communication techniques.
Thank you! But of course, Rudey knows EVERYTHING!!! If we can have George W. Bush as our President, SURELY we can have Rudey!

Also, the first quote taken from my org., NBLSA, the use of the term "articulate" was taken out of context by the one and all-knowing, Rudey.

I am too through.

Whether you are black or white doesn't change my opinion of how silly it is to compliment (particularly college educated) people on their ability to be articulate. However, whether you are black or white may change what is embedded in your comment or how people generally feel when they hear/read it.
EXACTLY...you are on fire, DSTCHAOS!

I'm sure you're right in your own little world.

Again do you consider those authors I listed to be articulate or not?

You said your colleagues in law school and at your firm called you articulate. Were you telling me they were insulting you?

You can change the meaning of articulate to be fat but it doesn't mean others will start using your definition and won't care if you are offended.

The sad state of affairs at many colleges and universities is that many incoming freshmen are inarticulate and NOT well-spoken in both oral and written communication. In fact, I see many graduate students who are barely capable of getting their basic points across. Many colleges across the country have writing centers where students get help writing their papers.

What I did find refreshing about the Howard Pika and PGperiphery posts as opposed to rantings of Shinerbock, Frathole and Shawanda30 (all 5 of whom are currently in college) is the fact that the first two did express their thoughts in a clear, and dare I say, articulate manner.

I beg to differ.

Shinerbock may not have opinions I agree with, but he expresses himself very well. I think most people on here would agree.

The fact that you can't separate the messenger from the message is disturbing.

If "hodydoe" has the same history that "moteesir" has then someone please clue me in. If it does not then I wonder if it was Conard's attempt at connecting slave talk to postslavery inarticulation.
FWIW, I remember hearing (also in elementary school, I think) a similar "joke" for "moteesir."

Sad commentary.

Well let's conclude that you are really just THAT thrilled when you encounter an articulate human being. However, let's also make this less about you and your words and more about an issue that existed long before you came into this world. I know I initially responded to your articulate comment in the other thread and someone else mentioned you in this thread. But I don't want to exaggerate your significance as far as this topic is concerned.

True to that, and I really wonder what DSTChoas has to post exceptions that really have little or no meaning.

I think there are some young folx in heerah that needs to know 'bout dey history...

And really, as far as Erik. You have to understand, that man ain't got no kinna game with all the Viagras he can get. His last game he thought he had was from his sponge bath with that male nurse--and dude said he wasn't his type!!! So really, who cares if Erik has hateful comments. It really just proves he isn't gettin' any...

Because if we has getting some and it was good, then he'd have no reason to hate.

And Alphafrog, chile puhleeze with your banter... Let it go... Homie don't like you no' mo', stop textin' him...

What the hell does this have to do with what FeeFee said?

Why are you attempting to banish us to "the other site" because of yet another conversation/thread about race, articulation of Blacks, Jewish people, and the other offshoots of this conversation? The conversation might not be your cup of tea, but it is what it is. I have learned from the conversation -- the Jewish offshoot, for sure.

Why do you constantly show up in threads and post nonsensical statements? Why do you profess to be color blind? Why do you attempt to tell certain GCers what to do, where to go, who we should call, etc. etc. etc.

Why don't YOU go to the other site? Or maybe start Geriatric Chat?

You are seriously the King of Jackassery. SERIOUSLY.
