Fall 2011, so I'd be applying next year. I definitely will apply because well, why not, and besides, I will regret it if I don't. If that doesn't work out however I will certainly be a volunteer for Sigma. We always need those and I want to get involved right away so that I will get in the habit of being an active alumna.

And nittanygirl I agree, I think that a blog could be quite an asset for our chapter, both in campus PR as well as aiding us in keeping our alumnae informed. We can definitely pass that info along to our new Triangle chairs and alumnae relations chair to see if there is an interest in doing so.

psusue! i think you'd be great for something like that I'm behind you 100%

And I'm also excited about the blog! I think our chapter should have a blog. I've seen some done very nicely. I think there was a thread about blog vs webpage this summer. I'd like to see an integration of both.

^ Those are adorable shirts! I love the pearls on the front (and the girly skull on the back).

I just got a 10-year letter and jewellry brochure in the post yesterday. I'm definitely getting myself a 10-year charm.

I'm 4 years out from a 10 year charm. I can't wait to get one.

Random sidenote: I got a bid to join Sigma exactly 7 years ago next Tuesday. Crazy how time flies.

Finished up my internship in Kentucky & am now back at PSU for my last semester! Quite sad really.

But I got promoted to being a crew leader at the job I work here which is great. I love working there & really enjoy being a crew leader.

Also am kind of slightly freaking out about interviewing/job offers.... I'm not worried I won't get one, I'm just worried it won't be what I'm hoping for. But I'll keep you all posted!

Congrats!

I'm nearing the end of first semester of M. Ed. #2. Not as bad as I thought it would be.

I'm also pretty sure I'll be starting a new job in January (working with HS kids who have special needs.) This will be a BIG change from 3 and 4 year olds but I'm really excited.

It also looks like I'll be getting the chance to turn my wedding hobby into a little more than a hobby soon (helping out a friend, for actual money lol.) I would never want to do it for living, but it is pretty cool to make a little money during the holidays on it.

I am finishing up my last semester of the classes I need to be certified, in the end I will be certified to teach K-6. The last step I had to take was to student teach, and just yesterday I found out my placement. I will working with a second grade class in one of the top districts in the state. I am over the moon excited about this. I also have been eating better and doing a boot camp class three days a week (that continually kicks my behind). Overall things are pretty good.

YAY. You're going to make a great teacher. I'm in SPED so all my content courses are K-8 (ex: my teaching math, teaching science, etc. courses) so I have had the opportunity to look at content from lots of grades. I think 2nd and 3rd grade content is my fave (especially math.)

Sidenote: I WISH I could say that I was student teaching soon.

I got an internship with the local animal shelter for next semester!

I'm so excited about this because I will 1. get experience in nonprofit work, which I'm potentially looking to get into, 2. because I will be the assistant to the director, which is pretty sweet and 3. because the director is potentially looking to hire a full time assistant next fall (which is after I graduate), so it could land me a job maybe!

Also I got to install my best friend, sorority twin, and roommate as our secretary tonight (I'm the ritual chair). I think we both teared up a little. It was such a special moment for both of us and I am so proud of her.
