Statement regarding the Super Bowl halftime show

Statement by NFL Executive Vice President Joe Browne regarding the Super Bowl halftime show:

"We were extremely disappointed by elements of the MTV-produced Halftime show. They were totally inconsistent with assurances our office was given about the show. It's unlikely that MTV will produce another Super Bowl halftime."

If they can't get the Bosox to break their curse, at least the Patriots are a somewhat acceptable substitute...

(bracing for the inevitable "YANKEES SUCK!" chant at the Pats victory party... )

Why the rioting? Isn't "rioting" a bad phrase??

Okay, with this second special-teams driven win by the Pats, I say that they ban field goals in superbowls.

It was so anticlimatic for such a great game.

Had the PAnthers not attempted that 2 point conversion and just went for the regular old kick, they could have very well won the game!!!! NKASAS!!!!!

I think she showed the breast to turn some heads. However, it was still ill-timed. During the most watched event of the year. If the Super Bowl can't be a family event...what can?

My thoughts....

I didn't want to see Janet's boob. The face of everyone in the room, as well as mine, looked like this as the boob jumped into commercial: . It took a while for us to break from our speechlessness.

Why the hell did the Panthers attempt two two-point conversions? Still, the game would not have ended in their favor had they just gone for the field goal for a total of two points, but at least I'd'a had a bit more hope at the end of the game.

At the end of the game, right before the Patriots winning field goal, they panned to the owner and he was holding hands with a few people who were with him. Immediately everybody in our living room followed suit. A room full of adults holding hands and yelling was a funny site to me, the only Panthers fan in this house. All well. Congratulations to the Patriots.

Yes! a la Britney and Madonna!!

I was wondering why in the hell they even chose Janet to be the headlining half-time performer. I vaguely remember who she is. I figured her management really pushed for her to headline because she really needs to put her name back out there. After the boob incident, my theory was confirmed.

Definately one of the better Super Bowls ever played. I was writing the cats off after Antwain Smiths' touchdown put NE up 21-10. Just didn't think with their weak offense up to that point that they could get it done.

But, this begs the question. Are the Panthers for real? or a one year flash-in-the-pan? Will they repeat as Division champs next year?

I think they've got a solid team, so we might be seeing more playoff wins in Charlotte .

Fox did a great job this year, but i really question going for 2 at 21-16.
