Sorry, but when this type of thing comes up, it sets a red flag for me!

There is much or some interaction of Races it just upsets me that I am a Member Of a So Called White Fraternity when we have members from all races.

It should not be that way, as there is something in all Greek Organizations that mean certain things for all of us, no matter of Color!

The main thing, one most go with The Greek Organizations that they feel comfortable with the Members present of the Chapter.

Yes, while I will acknowledge that some NPCs in their "early days" had discrimination skeletons in their closet, not all of them did.

Some NPCs were set up to as a response to discrimination as well. For example, AOII started as a response to a Jewish girl getting cut from another group (Discrimination based on religion), so her friends and she started up AOII. Phi Sigma Sigma and Delta Phi Epsilon were founded on the basis of being all-inclusive in terms of ethnicity and religion, or non-denominational (or something like that).

I didn't say anything wasn't wrong with it. On GC, I read posts from someone who says something insipid like, "Of course we're diverse! We have a black sister and an Asian sister!"

Since the topic is women of color in NPCs, I decided to stick to it.

It is true of Phi Sigma Sigma also. Our 10 founders all tried to join the same sorority at Hunter College but due to different religious and ethnic backgrounds they couldn't. The founders went to the dean and received permission to start their own sorority. From Phi Sigma Sigma's website "They wanted to start a sorority that would promote open membership to all women of character regardless of background; a sorority committed to sisterhood, excellence in scholarship, and selfless giving. On November 26, 1913, Phi Sigma Sigma was born, unobtrusively, without the thought of expansion. It was the first nonsectarian sorority; the only one that was open to diverse membership from inception and the only one with a ritual that was not based in scripture."

While this has nothing to do with Women,

it was interesting at Out General Assembly that one of the Coloines that were up for review was from NC. A & T.

For those that dont know, this is a HBC, I hate that designatin, but at the end of the table were three young men, 1 White, 1 Black, and 1 Asian.

They were all three there for one cause, to get and keep their Fraternity Alive!

That to me is the epitomy of Brother/Sisterhood!

Not that you asked, but this school was originally a "land grant" school. It is located in Greensboro, North Carolina. Some of the most noted alums of A & T are the Greensboro Four (sit-in at the Woolworth's counter in Greensboro in 1960 in protest of segregation), Rev. Jesse Jackson, Jesse Jackson, Jr., Dr. Ronald McNair (astronaut that perished in the Challenger disaster), Brig. Gen. Clara Adams-Ender, and btb87!

The A&T chapter hangs out with our chapter of Lambda Chi... I agree, they are a very diverse and very cool group of guys. I'm glad that they have found success at their school.

I am not so sure about this...I have been doing a bit of research, and I believe that the founder in question was "of Jewish descent" rather than "being Jewish." PLEASE view this as a friendly amendment....
